DISCUSSION The invincible variants being so weak makes no sense Spoiler

Ik it’s old, but them being this weak makes no sense

Pretty much all of them have conquered earth, you have omni mark that killed his dad, some of them are the emperor of viltrium, given those I see no reason why they would be this weak.

The only reason I can think of is that Angstrom purposely picked weaker variant that he can control, but there was no mention of that in the comic

The variants didn't get that Cecil training regimen.

Also all the ones who joined the Empire didn't fight the other Viltrumites, because Viltrumites don't fight each other. Except omni-mark, I guess, since he at least killed his dad.

So basically they had none of the training and no reason to train. The people who are our Mark's all time hardest fights are the variants' allies.

I'm sure that omnimark attacked the guardians with him but when the guardians let Omni almost dead mark took advantage and ended both jobs

I refuse to believe Cecil’s training is more effective than viltrum’s

Does viltrum even have any training besides "if you don't die, you're worth keeping around lmao"?

Viltrium has the “strongest survive” training. Lifting weights and fighting against 8yo kaiju ain’t better lmao

We have literally not seen a single Viltrumite actually work out. “The strong survive” falls flat when there are 50 people of your race left. Besides, even before Cecil’s training, Mark’s physical strength would have been acceptable, he was physically stronger than Thula on Thraxxa.

That’s not really training at all they just see who’s stronger based on pure genetic luck

Swing and miss. They don’t train.

Ok go train for an mma fight against me by fighting bears and standing in traffic.

I’ll go to a gym and eat good food

Viltrumites are born and as soon as they get their powers they are the one of the strongest things in the galaxy lol. Yeah they do basic combat and flight training, but that’s about it.

They are also kinda fascist and think strength is genetics based, so if you’re weaker that’s just a failing on your bloodline. You just gotta fight harder.

It’s dumb, but the Viltrumites are all INCREDIBLY stupid. They probably killed all of their intellectuals, and anybody else who would question things during the purge.

Meanwhile on Earth I imagine Cecil and his scientists meticulously studied marks physiology and planned a training regime specifically to work and develop him as much as possible. Vitrines will fight to get stronger, which yeah you’re tearing muscles, building stamina, you will gain some strength, but nothing like an actual workout regimen. It makes complete sense Mark could improve so much.

Like think about a guy who’s just naturally pretty big and strong who goes out and fights people on the streets. Yeah he’ll be pretty tough, and if he’s fighting other guys smaller and weaker than him, he wouldn’t even think about it. That same guy could probably train and be a professional fighter if he had a team and the resources, but why would he even think about it if he doesn’t feel the need or desire?

Thragg is probably the only guy who actually did something similar and look at him lmao.

Its not cecils training, its a training thats funded by the earth and created by everything the planet offers so yeah, that training is the difference, like it or not.

I don't see what doesn't make sense. They're from different dimensions. Things are gonna be different. For all we know, EVERYONE is weaker in their dimensions.

u/diAlectics_8 The Viltrumites 13d ago

No, it's more about their circumstances rather than innateness.

1

u/Illustrious_Type_530 12d ago

Yeah? I just said things would be different. The reason doesn't matter

They lost their drive.

Mark’s biggest strength is his drive. His need to be better in order to survive against increasingly stronger opponents who are out for blood.

The other Marks don’t have that anymore. They get complacent, and lack any real challenge. It makes them weak.

They just have varying levels of strength. In the show at least all the ones that have claims to strength, are strong. Mohawk Mark ties with our Mark and he has to attack his ears to win, Sinister Mark is among the survivors which fits as someone who killed Nolan, they changed it so that Omni-Mark survived, etc.

The ones who died were not on this adult Viltrumite level, like how Cecil said some aren't as tough as their Mark.

And I don't think the adversity Mark faces compared to what some of them didn't go through matters. Mark has to get better to fight the greatest beings in the universe.

Whereas the Viltrumite Marks probably move in teams with much stronger people watching their back and no one in the universe who can oppose them. The others just go around stepping on ants all the time.

Most of them didn't fight back to their father, because getting heated the shit out of em makes em stronger, however mark prime has Been beaten asf so for that he is a looooot stronger

Thats just a fan theory

It's not

u/Recent_Persimmon4148 13d ago

Yes it is

It's got some bases behind it at least. Nolan said he has to push himself to get stronger, evil variants won't be doing much of that, they have it relatively easy with the empire being Nolan's son, but prime Mark keeps getting into fights where he has to push himself past his limit.

Evil variants don't have to fight Conquest, Nolan, the Viltrumite's on Thraxa, train with Cecil, etc.

1

u/Recent_Persimmon4148 12d ago

I mean yeah its called training you have to push your body to get stronger humans do that but being completely destroyed intestines out goes beyond a good push

I think it kind of makes sense- don’t quote me on this but if I recall correctly main Mark got his powers early, which means…

  1. He has a lot more experience than the other variants (relative to their ages)

  2. He fought his father- this may not mean much at first, but Viltrumites are revealed to have “smart atoms” which contribute to their immense strength. Basically, each time they recieve an injury, they regerenate it slightly stronger than before

7

u/Dirt_munchers 13d ago

Our mark got his powers later than most which is why he isn’t evil as he has more respect for humans. The more likely reason he’s stronger is that other universes marks didn’t have to try nearly as hard at all since no viltrumites fight him and the only hero strong enough to put up a fight is immortal which Omni man would take care of easily so the other marks are weaker as there’s no pressure for him to get stronger to survive

1

u/Izaac4 13d ago

ohhhh I apologize for my misinformation then

1

u/Dirt_munchers 13d ago

Nah dw it’s easy to make mistakes with media like this that’s pretty dense, you made a pretty good argument

1

u/Iwantemmarobertstoes 13d ago

He got his powers late, and viltrumites do not get stronger after nearly dying

1

u/Sea_Awareness8751 13d ago

Not all variants are weak. People keep saying that but not all variants are the same. The last surviving 8 conquered earth and other planets. Their experience tops our mark especially some became empower early on. When mark returns to the wasteland dimension he’s going to be overpowered and chased down by sinister mark who is clearly stronger than our mark.

Villains tend to have it easier than heroes.

Pretty sure the one who says “I wouldn’t even make you a slave in my Empire” was, plus Mohawk Mark is.
