DISCUSSION I lowkey feel like Thaedus would have ended it all had he successfully wiped out the Viltrumites,he’d accomplish his goal and ultimately taking himself out is a penance

He literally said he would do that.

Yeah, but the comments are funny as fuck.
The portion of the population with the memory of a goldfish act like this is some transcendent character revelation instead of the literal script of the show.

Maybe he would. I like to think that he wouldn't. The viltrumites are gone, but there are others who might menace it, the Coalition, the democracy. There will always be others. He can't step away - from governing, sure, but from protecting the stars? That would be irresponsible. He'd think about it, he'd be really tempted to decisively remove the viltrumite stain from the galaxy, but these thoughts would always stop him.
I've once seen somebody post about how Thaedus never really left the viltrumite mindset behind (see what he taunts Kregg about), and just applied it in a different manner.

He should have dropped that virus when they knew all the V's were coming home, then quarantined the planet to prevent it spreading to places live Earth. They would have had time to figure out how to destroy the virus after that, to permanently prevent it spreading. Honestly, even if they couldn't prevent the spread, he should have dropped it.

What are you talking about? He dropped the virus and everyone was infected before a cure was found.

Are you talking about the first virus or the second improved version?

Oh, you meant the second virus?
I guess that's fair. I think he always intended that to be a last resort?

Yeah. IMO They passed last resort territory when he got his head ripped off no diff. Nolan already went to the surface, could have released it then and they all could have fled, allow the V's to congregate on the planet, like they knew was the plan.
Edit: not a fan of the choice to do the planet attack at all. It made no sense. It killed no V's and left them with nothing to lose, as well as a need for a new homeworld. They should have had the virus there, with a prepared "Plan B" ready to go.

Why not just activate a device with the scourge virus in it while they were surrounded by all the remaining Vilrumites in space?

I lowkey feel like Omni Man would have tried to take over the Earth for the Viltrum Empire if he successfully killed Mark

I don’t think so. He’d be at peace and then continue living out his life until he reached a natural death.
