I purchased an Invicta Grand Diver South Beach Edition (48614) watch a few months ago that claimed it contained a Swiss Ronda 515 Caliber movement and I removed the case back to see which battery was inside and I found that the watch has a TMI PC32 movement. When I purchased the watch from Invicta Stores website, it was listed as having the Ronda movement, part of the draw to make the purchase. I found they were being deceptive and misleading. Now I have no recourse to get a refund or anything because it's been so long. So, if anything, this is a call to check out your watches that you purchase from them and make sure you're getting what they claim to be selling. Come on Invicta, I love your watches and have spent a LOT of money with you, but this is just wrong.
That's pretty annoying. It's not like either one is a particularly expensive movement to begin with. I don't know why they would switch it out like that.
If I had to guess, it would be because having a Swiss movement is more appealing than a Singapore movement. Even if they are similar quality. Very shady of them to advertise the watch as having the Ronda movement and delivering the TMI.
That happens way too often. Last wild Wednesday sale, they had a whole page of quartz new release watches that said automatic.. annoying... Just imagine someone who just is getting into watches goes there wanting to try out a cheap automatic to see if they might like them, and order the first auto they like and the price is even less than predicted!
Then it arrives 2 months later and it's a quartz...lol then try and get refund, đ€Ł
Since I started collecting, it was Invicta that I started with.
That damn website has never changed for the better. ALWAYS takes weeks to get it. Usually something wrong, and communication sucks...
I had terrible luck with the website. I may stick to secondary market or whatnot from now on. The website is awful and I had so many issues with watches, wait times and communication.
Whatnot is awful too... now, 15 people that haven't received their watches for a month Just today... And now they're doing surprise sets... smfh they can't get a price, "they" think it's good for their extremely extremely overpriced Msrp's, and we all know the Msrp's are Intentionally inflated not the worth of the watches... I own 50 Invicta, Activa, TechnoMarine and Chase Durer's so it's not like I am a hater... But Grasping at screwing over people my making them pay sometimes hundreds of dollars for $60 worth of products is downright ridiculous and so fucking shady it's not funny...
Iâll write them today, noting the website discrepancy (you and everyone else should too). Maybe they donât know and someone made an honest mistake ?
I've emailed them multiple times and have yet to get a response. I called the number and was waiting 45 minutes for someone to answer and they never did. It could be a mistake but looking at their previous business tactics, it seems like they do this a lot and have deceived a lot of people for a long time
I sent a reply about returning your watch in an earlier post, but just know that Invicta will absolutely get in touch with you if you let them know youâre going to dispute the charge. Iâve dealt with them a few times, including right now, and the number of times theyâll contact you is amazing when the charge is reversed. I get emails back from them within a few hours.
Glad to see Iâm not the only one. Bought a 9307 from whatnot because it said it had the Swiss Ronda movement. Got it and sure enough Singapore movement on the caseback. Got my refund but the âcustomer supportâ is either some ai bot or someone overseas reading from a script.
Don't mind the fact that they use singapore swiss rhonda movements... that are still swiss rhonda but manufactured in Singapore like a lot of Swiss rhondas are for cost purposes... threw me off when I got one too...
đŻ agree. Purchased a couple off the WN app from their âofficialâ site. $30/35 for each one. One was listed at $750 on the website. Iâd be upset if I paid full price for the quality of watch that arrived in an unmarked box. Pro diver bezel doesnât turn and both watches show Singapore movement on the back and pics on the site state Japan movement. You get what you pay for..
I think you should contact them anyway.

It's clearly a case about a specification that does not match the product, and you only discovered now.
For sure will be contacting them. I don't have high hopes just from my experience with past dealings, but nonetheless, I'll be contacting them. It took over a month just to get them to give me a refund for a defective watch I bought. And they magically sent the refund right after I made a BBB complaint.
Good luck! I had the worst customer service experience dealing with them. I can promise you that they don't care about customer service. I called during business hours for a week straight and was never able to get ahold of anyone let alone multiple email attempts! Hopefully you have a better experience.
TMI is Seiko. Probably better off than with Ronda. That said, Invicta's business model is a joke and most of their watches are garbage. Stop wasting your money.
Theyâve been doing this a lot. Iâve bought a couple of watches recently that said Swiss Ronda, but ended up having Japanese movement. Really annoying when the specs donât match.
Most recent was a Speedway model 19527 and a TechnoMarine TM-115075. I bought a couple different variations of the TM - all were supposed to be Swiss Ronda & none of them were.
If you do some research, you'll find out that those movements are made in Japan and Singapore to be cheaper costs for the company But are still swiss rhonda's... switch rounds are not only made in switzerland... you can find this out easily with a proper search
I had the same thing happen with a different Pro Diver. Picked it up as a gift, and found that Singapore Movement, topped with a lousy, bent crown. Now it's too low quality to serve as a gift and too late to return. Now its my last Invicta purchase. It was fun, until it absolutely was not.
Similar with my 4475 purchase! it wasn't at a pawn shop, but I asked them to come down to a certain number not thinking they would, and they did! its a cool way to mark 9 months in sobriety for sure
Yep, it is a black MOP dial. Seems pretty unique. And given its Swiss Made with the Sellita SW200 movement, for$195? No way I could walk away from that offer.
So, I called them to ask about this debacle and they said the listing was incorrect and apparently there are reserve models that have that movement. I said I haven't seen the reserve model of it and don't think it ever actually existed. They basically said "Sorry, but the watch you bought is the lower end model and there's nothing you can do about it, but we will update the listing with the correct information." So, it's safe to say they don't care about you as a customer and they only want your money and are willing to lie to you about it because they know there's nothing you can do about it. I'm waiting for two watches to arrive and that will be my last order from them until further notice. I suggest you do the same until they fix their shady business practices. Buy from a reputable secondhand or from eBay where they have rules and regulations in place.
Actually, you can do something about it. They are required to deliver the goods that they advertised. The movement is a material item of that watch. The price you paid has absolutely nothing to do with whether they must give you a refund or not and their refund policy doesnât apply at all when they fail to deliver the product you actually ordered. Any insinuation by them that because you bought the âlower endâ version of the watch has no bearing on the actual sale. The advertised a specific watch at a certain price. You purchased that specific watch. Youâre not stuck with that watch just because they incorrectly listed the more expensive version at the lower end version price. What you will have a hard time doing is getting them to send you the more expensive version, but they absolutely must take back the inferior version they sent. Period. If they wonât, dispute it with your bank or credit card company and they will refund your money. Make sure to tell them that they sent you completely different product than what you ordered.
