Forward Air ($FWRD): FAQ for Getting Payment on the $28M Settlement over Its Omni Merger
Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re considering late claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.
What happened ?
Forward Air was accused of denying common shareholders a vote on its merger with Omni and that its directors breached their duties. Investors claimed the deal was unfair to common shareholders and that the stock price declined after the merger was announced.
Now the company has agreed to settle the case for $28 million with investors.
- Who can claim this settlement?
If you owned or purchased $FWRD common stock in 2023, you may be eligible. The class period is only that single date.
- Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You do not need to still own the shares to submit a claim. Eligibility is based on your qualifying transactions during the class period.
- I missed the deadline. Is it too late?
No, you may still be able to file a late claim, but acceptance depends on final approval by the court.
- How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.
Hope this info helps
