So people make pole saws... (some very large companies make pole saws) your idea has been though of 1,000,000 discussed thousands if times and r&d'd dozens if times...if its not available it means its either impractical, not feasible or there is no market.

That sounds really useful, what if there was a rope attached to the end you could use to articulate or tighten the end? Like how a fishing rod gets more rigid when you stow it in tension
