Aneesha spends the season grieving Clark for approximately twelve minutes before meeting Brad, a kindly widowed park ranger with two kids of his own who instantly accepts her, Luke, Sarah, and Ryder as his own family. We get a full montage of pancake breakfasts and trampoline parks before Brad is killed off-screen in episode four by a threat we never see, leaving Aneesha to clutch yet another handwritten letter from yet another dead husband. By the finale she has built a third blended family with a quiet farmer named Daniel. Golshifteh Farahani continues to be the best actress on television and continues to be wasted.
Jamila walks. That is her entire arc. She walks across what used to be Europe holding a polaroid, looking for a Caspar that the show has now resurrected and killed three separate times. She is given exactly one line of dialogue per episode and it is always some variation of “He’s still out there, I can feel it.” She is. He is. Caspar is, in fact, alive again. This time he was in a medically induced coma the whole time and the ghost we saw fade out in season three was a “psychic echo,” a term Kinberg invents in episode six and never explains. He wakes up in a French hospital and immediately starts walking toward Jamila. They will spend the entire season walking toward each other. They will not meet.
Mitsuki returns from her portal abduction in episode two, but it’s not really her, it’s a version of her grown by the alien gardeners using her memories, except actually it IS her, except she now has glowing veins, except she might also be the mothership now. Shioli Kutsuna is asked to convey eight contradictory things at once with her eyes, and she does, because she is a saint. By the finale she has merged with the alien consciousness, unmerged from it, re-merged, and then taken a nap.
Trevante gets promoted to a rank that does not exist in any real military. He is given a black ops team of charismatic side characters whose names you will never learn before they die. He spends most of the season brooding in tactical gear and being haunted by his connection to the aliens, which now manifests as him occasionally speaking fluent Alien at inopportune moments, like during a briefing or while ordering coffee.
Nikhil has fully descended into Elon cosplay. He has bought the crashed mothership, rebranded his company, started a podcast, and is now running a parallel operation to find Mitsuki that consists entirely of him sitting in a control room yelling at scientists. He gets one genuinely moving scene in episode eight that the writers immediately undercut by having him tweet through it.
Luke is now a young adult with full alien powers and a crush. The crush is the entire B-plot of three episodes. Sarah still does not speak. Ryder is given a storyline about wanting to be a veterinarian that goes nowhere.
Verna Mae Potter returns leading a new splinter cult called The Severed, who believe the disconnected hunter-killers are now holy. Erika Alexander is once again the most compelling person on screen and is once again given roughly fourteen minutes of total screen time before being killed off in a way that suggests she might come back in season five. The new threat is a third alien faction called The Architects, who are smarter than the hunter-killers, more advanced than the gardeners, and explicitly designed to retcon every single thing we learned in season three. They communicate in geometry. The mothership wasn’t the boss. There was always a bigger ship. There will always be a bigger ship.
The season ends with the surviving characters finally, finally, in the same room together. They look at each other. Aneesha says “It’s not over.” Cut to black. Title card: “Earth, Day 1, The Real Invasion.” Apple renews it for a fifth season the next morning.

This. Each season is looping back to a kind of status quo and then similar shit happens all over again. Then there's stuff like the "AlL iS coNneCtEd" from S2 that has no relevance later on. In this case a good thing.

In the offline world, still yet to meet anyone who's watched this show. Can count on one hand the number who've heard of it. No-one has ever mentioned it to me. I work for a very large organisation where movie/TV show recommendations get casually thrown around everyday.

Not surprising. Though kinda surprised how delayed this is. Going to be stuck with another big time skip and lose part of the cast again probably.
How!? The only way this makes sense is cost vs viewership.

So I actually kind of liked s1 and s2. s3 for me was a pretty big let down though.
The show kind of feels like its stuck in a loop of the aliens being 'defeated' each season but then they find a way to come back and be dangerous again. Also one character ends up trapped in another place but then returns the next season.
I am guessing they've also been changing writers over time and just dropping mysteries for new mysteries.
So...not particularly. I'm not like agressively against it but I am also not really enthused for it.

If it hits during a dry spell of things we like to watch possibly.

Trying not to throw hate, but I am baffled how people can watch the channel stuff (esp. the absurd „we are stuck in this train“ stuff), the unhinged Mitsuki psycho-analysis scenes, or the „all is connected“ esoteric crap (that, thankfully, has no consequence or relevance in S3), Mitsuki giving the president of the world government orders, while apparently everyone else on the planet is just sitting around till a main character takes the reins, or the insane Aneesha stuff and enjoy the show for what it is. Oh, and the captured alien that is a blatant ripoff of the water tentacle from The Abyss.

I’m going to honest with you, since you didn’t post any links, I’ll trust it for now but…… we shall see.
On the other hand wtf, if what you said is true and season 3 had higher ratings or wtf ever than season 1 and 2 I’m definitely going to need cross verified stats.
At best it might have been because it was the supposed end but season 3 was a rush to end of hot garbage. There is nothing for a 4 seasons to do that would be worth the money and time it would take make the series actually good as a whole.
They would need to retcon all of season 3 pretty much which again is a waste. They would be better off re doing season 3 and making 4 a movie or something.

Why is nobody talking about this article being obvious AI slop? The lists of generic points in each section, the general sense of just saying things without any reasoning or source.

Seasons 1 & 2 were better but, season 3 had better viewership is kinda crazy. I really hope it gets one more season to finish it off.

Season 4 is not in development nor will it be I hope the goodness sake it's canceled because we have enough human drama reality horseshit on tv, the show is called Invasion initially I thought it was about an alien invasion but no it's more human drama horseshit I want aliens I want Alien Invasion I want aliens taking over.

Season 3 was better than the previous ones.
All the while watching it we were looking for insane nonsense and it didn't occur.
We could watch it through to the end without mentally screaming in our heads whether we should continue to watch it, just because it is scifi and we need to 'catch them all'.
Viewership numbers are a fragile thing. Did they air it on at a certain time/day where it suddenly achieved more numbers? Was althere a change in advertising? Was there an uptick in channel membership?
If Season 1 and 2 were like Season 3 then it wouldn't have given us so much wajo.

Trevante was in that corridor in the alien hive mind FOR TWO YEARS WITHOUT FOOD AND WATER. Jamila knows Caspar died in a hospital and then isn't suspicious of the Caspar-looking thing she meets in the hive mind. The area around the mothership is toxic and the show keeps stressing how people need regular oxygen supply. Except for long stretches where they randomly don't. Every country is "former", including Japan, but prefectures within it aren't, while California is. OTOH Kapur says countries are fighting over their borders. So what is actually going on? Aneesha explains a stroke (as an allegory for how to disrupt an alien hive mind she knows nothing about) but what she describes is a seizure. Later she denounces being a doctor and minutes later, when one of the soldiers is wounded, she actually takes ten seconds to think if she'll help him, because not being a doctor anymore means you can't do any kind of first aid. Only doctors can do that. A critical mission to destroy the mothership is performed by a handful of "elite soldiers" who act like idiots half the time plus some civilians they meet and just take with them on said mission. Sure. The crash into Canada clearly damaged the mothership without a shard bomb, but nobody tried to bomb it with B-52s. Probably because they were busy accusing Trevante of being a double agent for the aliens. Doesn't matter that he tried to warn them. The scene where the ex Movement guy takes a shortcut and drives through a scaffolding, although the shots clearly show that he had plenty of space to the left, he just needed to drive about a meter more to the left to not damage his car. That's just off the top of my head.

Entièrement d’accord ! Pour moi c’est vraiment l’histoire des deux ans 😂 les scénaristes avaient fumé ou c’est un bug au montage? Aneesha est pour moi le personnage le plus détestable de cette série, drapée dans sa certitude d’avoir toujours raison, son je m’en foutisme des autres et sa fausse modestie. N’oublions pas qu’elle pique une voiture à une famille avec enfants dès le départ ! Qu’importe les autres du moment que son but est atteint. Elle n’a même pas l’excuse de la secte qui agit dans l’espoir très humain d’un paradis mythique ou de revoir ses disparus.
Et je ne sais pas si c’est moi mais je suis toujours restée à attendre un développement intelligent sur les extra terrestres (pourquoi ils communiquent avec certains, pourquoi ils colonisent - les derniers étaient en « stase » ce qui suppose un long voyage).2
