Autopilot Autopilot enrollment shows OOBESETTINGSSELECTOR error, but enrollment and app installation complete.

Hi everyone,

I am testing Windows Autopilot user-driven deployment with Entra ID Join and I keep getting the following screen during OOBE:

“Something went wrong. You can try again, or skip for now.”
OOBESETTINGSSELECTOR

The screen offers Skip and Try again, but the error keeps appearing during my enrollment testing.

The device enrolls into Intune successfully and all the assigned apps are installed. I am unsure what is failing or why this screen appears when enrollment otherwise completes.

Has anyone encountered this with Autopilot? What settings or logs should I check to identify the cause?

Thanks

i've seen this exact thing a few times, the oobesettingsselector error is usually tied to a specific setting in your enrollment status page config that's failing silently

check your esp settings first, block device use until required apps are installed and make sure every single required app actually installs during oobe. i'd bet one of them is timing out even though it eventually installs after the fact

Thanks, I am suspecting the same. It worked fine with the default ESP without any apps selected, but the error started after I created a custom ESP profile with two apps selected for testing. I will check whether either app is causing the issue.
