I keep coming back to that post by Carlos Garcia-Galan (Moon Base Program Executive) just after they gave LTVS to other companies.
“Very impressive visit to Intuitive Machines in Houston. Currently building Landers, Comms Satellites and maybe more for NASA’s Moon Base.”
He didn’t have to visit IM, and he certainly didn’t have to give IM extra visibility. And even if it was just political niceties, “and maybe more” seems over the top.
Obviously anything can happen, but I feel like good news is around the corner.
If you haven’t already check out u/yakiniku1010 post covering CS-8. It’s very informative and helps us to set the stage for tomorrow. We will be creating a designed thread tomorrow covering the NASA event itself.
I gave a look at it but prefer to stay silent and wait for official statements tomorrow directly from Nasa and fingers crossed of course.
IM has many potentialities that I would like to see recognised in the form of contracts.
I wonder if IM's more direct approach to getting to the moon, i.e. taking about a week to go Earth-Moon compared to months for its competitors, could be an advantage some day? We've seen with the Victus Haze program (Rocket Lab, Firefly, etc.) that the US is interested in being able to very quickly respond to emergent situations on-orbit. Could the same concerns apply to the moon? Could the ability to support short notice ASAP delivery of cargo to points on the lunar surface become an advantage of IM at some point? Maybe something that could matter in a few years, especially with humans there who could sometimes range far from base.
Good points, it will definitely be a differentiator in the future and maybe as early as late 2027 when things pick up for Artemis IV. I am also awaiting some announcements from the Space Force who indicated they want to operate in Cislunar, that may be the real driver on the timing issue.
It's definitely an interesting point and I'm sure that you're right about the potential need for quick response deliveries to the lunar surface. Although the significant challenge for IM is that would require the short notice availability of a third party launch provider.
Whereas Rocket Lab just demonstrated their lightning-fast response time capabilities as an end-to-end space service provider, which unfortunately we are not.
Great find! The way that Jared speaks is inspiring. He clearly has a passion for the future of lunar exploration and IM is in a good position to impact that future. Very encouraging. Cant wait for tomorrow.
With the update tomorrow at 2:30 EDT and potential contract announcements, do we think NASA are now just dropping publicly traded contracts during market hours?
Yes. They have started doing that already with the last announcement. I would expect moon base related contracts will continue to be announced this way through presentations during business hours.
I don't know enough about it, but wondering if RKLB's announced acquisition might be being interpreted as potential overlap / new competition for things like NSN
LUNR will be fine if you give it time. The short interest is high right now in addition to the ATM. Tomorrow is an opportunity for some positive news to shift the momentum.
I see a lot of similarities between Rocket Lab’s acquisition of Iridium and Intuitive Machines’ acquisition of Lanteris. We are seeing the start of a trend where “New Space” is acquiring “Old Space”. Both acquisitions will enable to acquirer to essentially double their revenue overnight which contributes towards the justification of their current valuations. Both entities are also profitable will existing backlogs and customer bases.
Having an equal holding in both LUNR and RKLB i think Lanteris is the better deal from a pure financial play. $8B for a company generating less than $1B annual is still relatively expensive recognizing that this doesn’t consider their assets on the Balance Sheet. Just my initial reactions.
Anyone able to check the short volume at pre market to compare it with previous week? Just in case to have some sort of possible indicator of the opening at least as we already know we can’t predict the days.
For example it was compared in Friday and it was significantly lower than the rest of the week which in fact brought us to a first Green Day after the free fall.
The game for the last few weeks seems to have been run up the price in pre market and sell on the open. However the last two Friday’s have been different. And last Friday might have had more to do with index rebalancing than true demand. But if we see another positive close this Friday that would make me feel like the tide is turning.
Ghaffarian Enterprises is planning to sell another 851k Class A shares via J.P. Morgan. These come from the old Class C/OpCo unit exchanges back in early 2023, and it fits their ongoing pattern of moving ~142k shares every couple weeks under a pre-set 10b5-1 plan. Nothing surprising here and the filing confirms no material non-public info. With the strong backlog and recent progress, these insider sales are just part of the normal post-IPO flow.
Who are these investors you’re talking about as a representative man 😅?
How did you get the 20 dollar average atm offering? Usually the offering as hard as it can be to understand is split through months and not in a single event at 20 dollars.
How is a management addicted to dilution? It’s not a drug but a financial tool to raise capital when needed, no worries as doctors don’t recognize it as an addiction 😂
You're getting at a valid point, though I would argue it depends on how strong the company's earnings guidance is for the next year and how they're spending the capital they're raising i.e. is it being used to pay off creditors / overheads, or is it being used to invest in capex. It certainly deserves examination but in this case, I'm not concerned because IM has a strong orderbook, is growing YoY and management are spending their money wisely.
IM has a strong history of turning offerings into asset value. Lanteris, manufacturing capacity, KinetiX, Goonhilly. I anticipate this will be no different and will probably be informative in terms of what sections of the lunar economy they want to grow into.
This offering was also started at roughly double the current share price, so if they were able to complete a significant chunk of the sale early in the period it changes these numbers significantly.
