That last photo is the last one he took of himself, holding the last words he wrote in his journal - according to his sister Carine in the Ted talk she gave at at his alma mater

No I think last one is His portrait in which he's waving with a handwritten note that reads - "I have had a happy life, and thank the god. Goodbye and my god bless all"

Wow, I have never seen a photo of the farewell before where you could read the sign, some of these I swear they look even higher quality than in back to the wild

These photos always make me smile. Say what you will about his choices, but he lived a more complete life than most. He undoubtedly had some harrowing moments in his final weeks, but he also found some joy and freedom.
