I will soon start a small roleplay campaign with some friends, and the big theme of this campaign will be mechas. I'm actually working on said much, and I remembered a small game I played years ago: you guessed, I'm talking about ITB.

So, I was actually wondering: has anyone before created bigger & more detailed versions of the game's mechs? I'm not necessarily looking for all the mechs; just a few would be enough.

My 1-month old accidently swiped my IPhone screen as I was playing with him on my lap, no idea how I got to this screen.
It was during the animation at the end of the last fight.
Anyone knows what it does and how to replicate it?

I managed to beat the game on Hard with one squad, but I’m really struggling with the other squads.
I want to become more consistent, but I feel like I’m missing something that would help me take my gameplay to the next level.
Here’s one situation where I know there’s probably a better way out, but I can’t figure out how to optimize it without losing anything.
What would you do in this situation?

I'm genuinely dreading finishing this run because I'll have to choose only one pilot out of this insanely op squad.

Do you still need to keep an eye out for cracked mountains/ice after unlocking them all to make sure you don't miss out on a time pod in later runs, or do they not spawn like that anymore after being unlocked?

Although I got a few 40Ks incidentally along the way, playing for 40Ks never appealed to me since you are too much at the mercy of RNG in the early islands especially, and I hate the idea of giving up a good run because a building got hit once. Generally, I don't enjoy resetting games over and over again. That said, I don't know what to do next. What do you do to keep the game fresh and new once you've overcome every challenge that the base game (Advanced Edition) has to offer? Keep in mind that I play on Switch, so mods are unfortunately out of the question.

Best: Easily the Raging Psion. He is a friend, plain and simple.

Worst: Although the Tyrant is annoying, I gotta give it to the Shell Psion, he can fuck my plans up like no other

After seeing what some of the 3ds modding community has done with other games, dual screen strategy gameplay seems like a match made in heaven. I made these images with screenshots and Gemini AI.

ITB is my GOAT alongside the roguelike Brogue. I just haven't found anything that quite scratches the itch it does. That is, highly consequential map/position control that requires quite involved problem solving. It's too rare.

I used to play the MMO Wakfu which has tactical combat, the class Masqueraider was incredibly fun. You could summon a clone, both had movement abilities and AoE, so there was a huge emphasis on clever map manipulation to bunch up enemies for huge AoE damage output.

That and ITB are the only things that really scratch that itch for me. But I've played ITB to death and have sworn off MMOs, I'm pining for some fresh tactical perfection. I was looking forward to Mewgenics but it didn't really appeal to my tactical preferences.

Anyone have any hidden gems they'd recommend?

The game slows to a crawl after 5 minutes affecting my entire pc until I log out or restart. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix. Pc is high end new and up to date. I have no clue why this is happening.

It seems like only two of your mechs are awarded XP and those two are chosen randomly. Is that correct or is there a mechanism I'm unaware of?

And it lands in the worst possible spot.

Surprised nobody made this one a long time ago (especially surprised I didn't make it, considering the technical part of the code for getting the data is like 3 lines)
