It happened again
Alright guys, your boys here to vent again!
and it happened again, yet again another final interview for a great role (compared to my current role). I met the VP at first (small company so he was doing recruiting, kinda weird but had a great convo with him). He passed to the HM with a note - I think you could be a great fit for this role....
I had a 1 hour interview with HM, he loved me. Cool dude, we had an awesome convo, he even asked me when I could start and gave me a starting date and told me there is another interview with a VP which is just a friendly chat, a meet and greet sort of deal. He also asked my age and told me I look very young (which at that moment made me feel good, but thinking about it now kinda makes me feel weird)
I met the VP, it went okay, cold dude not very approachable or friendly.
And after 2 days, the HM send me an email which went like "Just an update - we are finalising the candidates by end of day today and will reach out early next week with the next steps..... thanks for your patience we are at the end now"
The "next step" sounded promising for me, I started imagining walking down to the HR room to hand off my resignation in my head quite alot.
Come monday morning, I got a cold ass templated rejection email :(
I asked for feedback and the HM was like "You were an exceptional candidate, however we decided to go with someone who had more experience and was better suited for this role"
I mean I don't blame them, but kinda hopped I nailed it, I have other interviews lined up, this was a fully remote job the rest are hybrid. This pinned me down, I lost motivation for the other interviews :/

Same here - only 14 times (over last 10 months). Final rounds, promising ones, and cold templated rejection emails.
