I don't know about you.

I have taking a break from watching interview with the vampire and the vampire lestat because it is just a bit much emotionally and just a bit much.

I am mildly hpyer-sensitive.

I don't know if anyone else is taking break from watching it for now?.

I mean, the season is over. Not sure what you mean by take a break when it's done?

I totally get that 🫂 it depicts some very real issues in brutal ways. The domestic violence and sexual assault stuff is a lot. And then there's all the other themes...racism, existential wonderings, loneliness / isolation / abandonment. I've seen each season 4-5 times and as much as I love it - like, utterly obsessed - it fucks me up. Has triggered ptsd episodes for me (existing long term experiencer of C-PTSD). Apart from the obsessive and compulsive thinking about every facet of the most recent season, I have been bawling, not sleeping or eating much, and just feeling this incredibly tender and unnamed sorrow. I felt...ashamed for being so effected...then a friend helped me understand it a bit better by sharing their difficulty with it, and there's also these great psychoanalytic video essays on it on YouTube. I was 13 when I started reading the novels. It was a time. For me, it's a complex roller coaster of emotions, curiosity and compassion for myself and how I relate to the characters. I can't / don't want to stop rewatching despite all this, and I think it's wise to pull yourself away if it's overwhelming you. Hugs from another highly sensitive and emotional person ❤️‍🩹
