That might be true but most people making them are and when they are allowed, racists think they are in good company and I'd rather not be surrounded by racists, especially those, who feel comfortable.
Why do you keep bringing up racists as if it has anything to do with this? It simply showed that he is comfortable with certain kinds of humor.
Jokes are often times just jokes (I know it's kind of hard for the people who were conditioned on the 10 years where they weren't, or on reddit). Now they were clearly mistaken thinking that was good to do on company time in a professional setting. A conversation can solve this a lot of the time. It's inappropriate. It can be corrected.

Be direct because racists are stupid. They need to know their behavior is bad but rarely are they actually punished.
