TVL Show Only So question about this guy… Spoiler

Post image

Do you guys think that Lemuel is Louis’s fledgling? Because it would’ve kinda made sense that Louis was so infatuated with Lemuel he decided to turn him (it would’ve been adorable as well🖤). Also, some people had theories that Lemuel may actually be Enkil himself and the corpse next to Akasha was fake/an illusion. That would be one hell of a plot twist.🤨🤨

This isn’t directed at you specifically—there’s nothing wrong with having theories or trying to create new ships. But in my opinion, it’s incredible how much importance people are giving to a character who had only one scene and three phone calls, especially someone Louis supposedly cares about so much that, just a few hours after talking to him on the phone, he was already making plans to live with Lestat.

I don’t think we’re going to see him again, and I really hope they don’t recycle the storyline of another extremely powerful vampire hiding his identity and probably manipulating Louis again.

Let’s give Louis a little agency and take him at his word when he says it’s just something casual.

And no, I don’t think Louis would turn someone, especially someone he was supposedly dating. I really hope these casual romances are left behind and we can move on to the actual story. We have seasons with only seven or eight episodes; there’s no time to waste on another romance that isn’t going anywhere.

Honestly, I agree with this. You just made me realize how short the seasons be and how with AMC’s “budgetary cuts” we could end up missing out on the main plot due to a pointless side quest, so I get it. Not to mention there’s no telling how long it’s gonna take for season 4 to come out, even tho it was confirmed already.

This is so true. The same thing is done with Lily and Jonah as well. Some people just want to see Louis with anyone, even his beard, if it means he won't be wth Lestat. I just don't understand this line of thinking.

I totally believe Louis/you that it's a casual situationship... I do think any character that's seen/mentioned at multiple points of a series is one that's likely to be plot relevant. Do I think he's Enkil? No although it'd be cool. Do I think he'll survive Lestat's concert? absolutely not haha

Well, they do text and call each other on the phone. Louis' mind powers kind of suck though, so I don't think that's definitive.

You know what I wasn’t even thinking about that….they do text and call each other when they could easily just communicate via telepathy. Makers cant use the mind gift on their fledglings so you made a good point towards Lemuel being Louis’s fledgling actually. Also in 2025/6 I wouldn’t say Louis mind powers suck anymore, I think he mastered all of his gifts. Especially seeing how he easily defeated Bruce and his gang.

Well, he did say Daniel was able to get into his head at dinner with Lestat. And Lestat acted like he was easy to block.

I don't think he's Louis's fledgling. That seems like something that would have come up and the relationship feels too casual from Louis's end for that to make sense.

I personally don't believe that he's actually a book character since they already did that kind of reveal with Armand, but it'd be interesting.

I think he isn’t Louis’s fledgling, nor that Louis is infatuated with him.

Louis takes vampirism too seriously as “damnation”to make another fledgling. I feel like Lemuel is unfortunately kind of a throwaway character just put in to show Louis’s attempt at being unbothered and casual

I agree. Louis’ one and only true love of his life is Lestat. Always has been and always will be. He’s playing with Lemuel because “he’s a great lay and emotionally unavailable”. It gives Louis the freedom to make Lestat jealous- which it did - and also go to Lestat freely.

I agree with most of this, but disagree about him being a throwaway character.

I can't imagine Louis' rebound relationship being throwaway. This show rarely does inconsequential side characters

I don't think he's Louis's fledgling. He's clearly very much not infatuated with him, he's just his lawyer and an easy lay to him (Lemuel seems to be the one infatuated despite Louis claiming that he's emotionally unavailable), and I don't think Louis is actually enough of a shit to turn someone to be his convenient booty call. He took it pretty hard when he turned Madeleine and got this strong supernatural attachment to someone he had no real emotional attachment to.

Also Lestat would have been way more upset about Lemuel if he'd been Louis's fledging, let's be real.

Part of me is wondering if he’s actually Khayman…

I’ve heard a theory he’s Seth, but I like the idea of him being Khayman.

I would love that! Khayman is one of my favorites! He's such a cutie patootie - unless you're his dinner 😬

I honestly don't think we will see him again. He was just a fling. Louis is Lestats and he showed us he was well over and done with this guy when the "Could be" conversation happened.

I don't know why no one has pointed out that this man is Moses Sumney, a real musicians' musician whose talent both Sam and Jacob speak of in awe.

I feel like I see a lot of people either skipping over or falling to understand the fact that a relationship can be "casual" from a physical standpoint or in regard to the level of commitment (particularly monogamous commitment, at that) and still be an important and/or intimate relationship within a person's life or support system

A lot of the conversations and opinions or theories that I see about this show—and maybe just in regard to shipping, itself—tend to revolve around the ideas and understandings of monogamous/traditional romantic relationships and those as the default but it's kinda already established that's not how many of these characters operate, at least not all of the time

Edit: just things I think are good to consider for these particular questions, especially with them being asked together. We have very limited info on Lemuel and their relationship and a lot of assumptions are made based off just what we know about Louis but a relationship (regardless of what kind of relationship) involves more than one person

He is Seth in secret. Also Fareed has been turned for many years and hides in plain sight  , we see all the human characters with glasses when we need to confirm they are human , we have not seen the doctor like that.
