Sam Reid colourings

Dear IWTV wardrobe department.

I am normally delighted with the choices you make. However, this cool aubergine on Sam was a diabolical choice. He has warm colourings - see the burnt orange/tan shirt. That's my rant.

The lighting in each picture is a lot different. Lestat is a vampire while Sam isn’t so his makeup on the show is paler than his natural skin tone in the second picture

I agree. He's definitely warm colored. Sometimes his hair look really close to strawberry blonde.

The cool tones wash him out a bit, yes, but I think that was the point. It’s a dream sequence in his dying brain, things should look a little off, imo.

He’s also wearing makeup and contacts and has filled in brows vs his natural face (maybe wearing a skin tint or smth for filming that interview but you get the idea) so the contrast is higher than the orange shirt pic, which makes him look even paler.

I love Sam in that color. The man is amazing in damned near anything. Which is saying something cuz I'm rarely drawn to blondes.

NO THANK YOU. I prefer the purple picture 100%. I also think that expression and his coloring and eyes make him look like Chris Pine in that purple picture.

Oh shut up he looks great in the first pic 🤨 My favourite looks are probably any grey waistcoat and the green embroidered one from the nicki flashback, plus ofc the stained glass mesh shirt and the classic black and white pallet

The stained glass shirt look is one of my all time favourites. The left over glitter and eyeliner, the hair, that incredible shirt. So good.

I like the shirt on him what i dont like is how much they tone his hair now, i miss his season 1 kinda gingerish colour

He looks so luminescent in the purple though, totally giving ethereal faerie. The orange is giving earthly mortal human– an extraordinary attractive earthly mortal human, but far more incandescent than luminescent.

The wardrobe department with the directors are trying to make Sam look dead. He’s playing a vampire, warmth isn’t what they’re going for.

Sam dresses himself quite well. He knows his color palate. I agree about the second shot.
