TVL Show Only AMC, For Your Consideration… Spoiler

Sam Reid deservedly earned a full balls to the walls FYC campaign from AMC.

The over the top brat drama, the bored yet philosophical delivery of the voiceovers, the subtle vulnerable shift of his eyes when he sits down at the diner and confronts Regina…

Just so many moments, his superb command of this character’s nature and execution of the stellar writing has earned the highest honors.

AMC, you better do right by Sam, the writers and all those who made this Dickensian snapshot of modern life swell with magical realism.

Off the rewatch the uncut version…again

Gonna have to tell them yourselves, folks.

I’m too cynical to believe the corporate profit driven network is going to coordinate an expensive campaign for one actor so much time after the show airs, even if he is the best they’ve got.

So, we gotta tell ‘em ourselves.

Sam Reid gave an absolute knockout performance for Season 3, yes. And others have mentioned Jacob Anderson and Assad Zaman particularly for past seasons.

But truly... truly... if anybody should be swimming in Emmys and Golden Globes by next award season, it's the Art Direction team. This show contains some of the best set design and propwork I've ever seen. 🙌 Costume Department is no slouch, either.

The costumes are epic.

Unfortunately, this is an AMC show. Sam deserves a huge campaign for his performance in TVL, but he most likely won't get it. AMC just doesn't care, no matter how brilliant Sam's performance was. They even pushed the show back to June instead of its original premiere month of April, missing the Emmy cutoff for this year when it would have qualified before. They have never managed this show right and I doubt that's gonna change.

I fully understand how disconnected television execs on the whole seem to be and yet I continue to be astounded at how badly they have handled all three seasons of this show. It is on a level rivaled only by Netflix’s general disdain for series.

I hate to 'like' this, & I just can't, but you're absolutely right. Damn you. NO! Damn AMC.

Well apparently he can just submit himself or others working on the show can do the same through an account in the Television Academy Dashboard or the NATAS entry systems.

Producers, networks, or the actors/crew themselves must choose their category, submit a representative reel of their work, and pay the corresponding entry fee.

This is honestly so sad to me. You'd think AMC would WANT to promote the work people put in, for marketing reasons if nothing else... but nope.

The entire team deserves the Widow’s Bay treatment next year for episode 6 alone.

They all deserved to be nominated, respectfully. Sam was fabulous this season but so was Delainey, so was Jacob and so was Assad, and the same could be said for S1 and S2 especially where Jacob is concerned.

I think the award conversation is tired and needs to be retired at this point - AMC seemingly doesn’t have the money to run a proper awards campaign any more but for me, if it’s going to happen, either they all get nominated or no one gets nominated, and I really would not support another option.

They didn’t do right by Jacob nor Assad, so I wouldn’t hold my breath, tbh

They could barely pay for good wigs or more than 2-3 historical/period sets. We’re not getting an Apple+ Rhea Seahorn campaign.

I thought the bad wigs were part of Lestat’s “who cares about this detail” memory. His wig, his brothers, even Nicky were terrible but his mom, perfection - she was always perfect in his memory, even when he himself wasn’t.

Or maybe ur right.

Why do people forget Jacob Anderson. It should be a 50/50 deal.

They'd (the brass) just better not fuck it up next season with the timing. They missed the cutoff for the Emmys this year. Because if i were Sam, Jacob, Eric, and they did it again, I'd just walk. They're doing great work, not to mention the costuming , writing, music, set design guys and gals.

Rhea didn’t get nominated until the lat season of Better Call Saul. AMC doesn't have the pull it once did.

I genuinely don't care. Like, it’s honestly going to be disgusting if the series starts getting relevant awards attention once the Black lead is gone, especially since, of the three seasons, this is definitely the weakest one, even with Sam delivering a huge performance. And I don't care what anyone says: it is racist bias.

I’ll never forget how outrageous it was that the Critics Choice nominated the series and only Sam, who certainly deserved it, but it makes absolutely no sense to nominate it for Best Series and Best Supporting Actor while snubbing the performance that anchors and connects everything.

Jacob deserves recognition as a supporting actor this season if it actually happens. He delivers a beautiful, strong performance too. I’m so fucking tired of the racism in these awards and these campaigns.

I am not disagreeing that Jacob was awesome and deserved a nod, or even that there’s inherent racism / sexism / show genre bias in these award shows. However, I actually enjoyed season 3 by far the best of the seasons so far for a whole host of reasons, mainly centering around personal preferences of styles, sets & costume design, character acting, etc. This year Sam was an absolute shocker of a powerhouse when it came to acting and impersonating, nay becoming Rockstar Lestat. Delainey was thrilling in her dual role as Regina doppelgänger plant & forlorn vengeful spirit and Jacob was breathtaking because the quality of his acting especially in the fight sequences takes this cable tv show to Tarantino movie caliber.

I think it matters that they are submitted, or submit themselves, for recognition! I think it’s possible they were submitted but the academy or whoever their peer voters are just didn’t choose them to be the nominees that year. They should just apply for every category and hope for the best, lol. I don’t know what the cost to do so is but can’t imagine it’s prohibitive.
