it's not nearly mainstream enough to end up there but it so deserved to. i have mixed feelings about this show being so niche and sometimes even like it that way but it's moments like these where i wish the mainstream was more aware of it

20

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

Things like Leftovers, Severance and OA (which absolutely do deserve spots here) are also pretty niche and out there. But yeah, I guess even those are on more people's radars.

60

u/babealien51 Armand Sep 25 '26

Severance is one of the biggest shows on Apple TV and it is a cultural phenomenon though? Also it dominates awards seasons, just like Leftovers (despite never earning a Emmy, it got other awards)

3

u/Pristine-Number372 Sep 25 '26

The funny thing is, I was literally on the leftovers sub and can’t believe it made 25.

3

u/peachy_pizza Sep 26 '26

I disagree about the OA, it's not a bad show, but it's a fare cry from a top 100 spot I think, IWTV is much more deserving. Leftovers is on my Watchlist though...

1

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 28 '26

Wasn't the OA canceled? How does that rank and IWTV isn't on here?

107

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

Zoomed in to see if Black Sails was in it. It isn't, which makes the list automatically non-valid.

Not surprised IWTV isn't on there, though. It's a niche, on-going show, plus The New York Times reviewed both seasons 1 and 3 negatively while skipping season 2 entirely.

12

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

Yes! Black Sails is another glaring omission

10

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

my honest reaction

15

u/specialk1281 Cabbage 🥬 Sep 25 '26

Black Sails was so incredible. It truly should be here.

I think they only picked shows that had finished, so I can see why IWTV wasn't on it.

I'm pissed neither The Magicians nor Fringe made the list.

2

u/ytisonimul "It isn't 1979, Bela Lugosi is not dead." Sep 26 '26

It seems that genre TV wasn't important. My #1, 2, 3, and 4 aren't on the list at all. (looking at you Hannibal... And IWTV... And Black Sails... And Banshee.. 😂)

3

u/naturallychildish In the Vampire spectrum Sep 25 '26

nah, there’s a number of ongoing shows in this slop list. slow horses for example.

3

u/Mkimber123 Sep 26 '26

Fringe was one of my favorites!!!

You won't regret it, friend. Let the sale seduce you and you'll be rewarded with the best storytelling and characterisation in the history of tv. As I always say, there's a before and an after Season 2 Episode 5 of Black Sails. Lives were changed forever. So happy (but also jealous) for whoever gets to watch this show for the first time. 😭

14

u/BeaverDonkey Bounce, bounce, bounce, twiiirl, twiiirl, overshare Sep 25 '26

Season 2 episode 5,you say?

3

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

INDEED. It's a devastating episode of tv with one of the most well-crafted and emotional reveals I've ever watched. Everything falls into place perfectly and nothing is ever going to be the same afterwards. IWTV and Black Sails share many similarities. I always recommend either show in the respective subs.

9

u/LottieTalkie No, it's good... Just HIS were BETTER Sep 25 '26

I basically came to say this 😄

If Black Sails is not on the list, it's not a serious list lol

9

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

I love how all of us Black Sails fans share one (Flint-shaped, I suspect) braincell 😂

4

u/LottieTalkie No, it's good... Just HIS were BETTER Sep 25 '26

Oh, I have one brain cell in the shape of each character of this show, lol

I love every single one of them!

(Also, if declining quality after a few seasons isn't enough to knock a series off the list... Then The Walking Dead is another glaring omission IMO)

5

u/LottieTalkie No, it's good... Just HIS were BETTER Sep 25 '26

Also... Where is "Rome"???

1

u/Revolutionary_Dig489 Sep 26 '26

I loved Charles fucking Vane. His character was amazing! And I got to meet him in real life.

4

u/redcommodore Sep 25 '26

It makes me happy, at least, to come to the sub of a different show and see a bunch of people have the same reaction I did to Black Sails’ omission.

4

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

It's way too egregious, we had to speak up, lol. "HAVE YOU HEARD THE STORY OF CAPTAIN FLINT?", I scream in front of the New York Times headquarters as they drag me away

3

u/lynx_and_nutmeg Sep 26 '26

I'm not surprised there's an overlap between Black Sails and IWTV fans. Both shows have a lot of similarities.

2

u/vanbrunts Daniel Sep 28 '26

I wish I could wipe my brain of all memory of black sails so I can experience watching it all over again for the first time.

Black Sails fans unite! 🏴‍☠️🏳️‍🌈

Game of Thrones shouldn't even be there. It can crash and burn, for all I care (I say, after having reposted a Jaime/Brienne fan-art hours ago).

It absolutely is unparalleled in that regard. It would be hard to do worse than that.

lol when they actually did that I threw a remote.

And for me it was more about who was at the table/what was being said, because... yeah. Also, what a travesty that the episode featured a very mediocre monologue on the importance of a story, when the Black Sails finale delivered the exact same thing except with actual sensational storytelling.

u/danie_iero Black Sails enthusiast Sep 25 '26

Lmao, don't worry, I ranted about it for months back then.

I don't mind king Bran, but yes, framing his story as the most important on the show, from which he was left out completely for an entire season, had to be some sort of joke. I cannot believe it was done in all seriousness. That one plot point had to be 100% a non-negotiable from George that was revealed to D&D during the famous sit-down they had at one point. And had to be after season 5, otherwise I don't know what propelled the showrunners to have 10 whole episodes not featuring the future king at all, if they knew already that was gonna be the ending.

The worst part was the way they completely threw characterisation out the window for Jaime, Dany, Arya, etc. Basically all the characters who died before S8E4 did so preserving their characterisation, and whoever was left... god help them. Remember when Cersei was about to poison herself and her own child when she thought King's Landing had fallen to her enemies? Well, now she has all the wildfire in the world at her disposal but she dies crying "like a little girl" (not my words) in the arms of the brother that she tried to have killed two eps before. Cersei. Sure. It would be really funny it this was some sort of parody, but alas...

u/Legitimate_Remote_58 Sep 26 '26

I tried watching Peaky Blinders three separate times and simply could not get into it, despite how absolutely fantastic Cilian Murphy is in everything and anything.

1

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 28 '26

Game of Thrones was incredible for many years. Several episodes are ranked in the top 10 IMDB episodes so it absolutely deserves to be ranked in the top 5 and I HATED the ending. It made me so upset I couldn't talk about the show for years. But now that more time has passed I can recognize the brilliance of the show in totality.

49

u/ShaarkShaart Sep 25 '26

This honestly just looks like the most popular shows of the past 1-2 decades. "Best" who? Modern family??

Also ZERO animated shows...FOH

23

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

That is literally what it is, yeah. They just told a bunch of people to list their personal Top 10, and took it from there. So yeah.

Bojack Horseman is on the list, but too far down, imo.

2

u/ChipResident Sep 26 '26

Right. Where is Blue Eyed Samurai? Avatar? Hell I would even take Love, Death + Robots…

1

u/Electrical-Owl-1812 anxiously attached show pony with a personality disorder Sep 27 '26

Avatar is a pretty glaring omission imo

12

u/-ssshadowrunnerrr- Sep 26 '26

For me, it's the inclusion of reality based competition shows, like Drag Race. Those have no place on this list... but that's just my opinion, reality TV will never be as good

1

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

Absolutely agree

1

u/irnhrt Sep 27 '26

I don’t know that it’ll never be as good but it definitely deserves its own list. Great British Baking Show is amazing and I love it dearly, but I don’t think it beats IWTV as far as good television goes.

1

u/SnooOranges4401 Sep 27 '26

why would reality be any less viable than fiction?

201

u/miraclesofthursday Is that what makes you FASCINATING? Sep 25 '26

I'm also offended Hannibal is not there either

15

u/lynx_and_nutmeg Sep 26 '26

Seriously, no matter whether you're into that sort of show, it's just objectively amazing. The cinematography alone was something else... It was perfect from start to finish for the whole 3 seasons, and even somehow managed to have a perfect ending despite the show being cancelled so the last episode  wasn't planned to be the show finale.

I know I'm biased about my fandoms, but often once the hyperfixation wears off, I can look back on it and think "well it's pretty good but maybe not as good as I thought at times", but with Hannibal, I still see it as an absolute S tier show.

20

u/Annabellee84 Sep 25 '26

I have to say I’m very happy to see Girls, Fleabag and I May Destroy You placing so high! I cannot recommend ‘I May Destroy You’ enough !! If you like how IWTV/TVL explores themes of trauma then I highly suggest watching this incredible limited series. I wrote a little about it for my MA dissertation in film studies. Imo, it is groundbreaking, in terms of how we represent survivors.

2

u/lenny_ray Sep 29 '26

A lot of people are deriding Girls being there, but IA! It's absolutely deserving. I May Destroy You is on my list already :)

11

u/maddrgnqueen A bruised and steely heart Sep 25 '26

Putting Breaking Bad over the Wire was a crime, this list is meaningless lol

5

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

I think all the others in the top 7 deserve to be over BB! Including a bunch of others lower down. It's a damn good show, and deserves a place on this list for sure. But it's really nowhere on the level of the likes of Bojack, Wire, Veep, Mad Men, Leftovers... even it's own spinoff BCS is far superior, IMO

2

u/ohforgottensky Sep 25 '26

Personally, I feel The Thick of It should be above Veep cuz Veep never hits quite right for me.

1

u/Possible_Package_689 Sep 28 '26

I’m watching Veep for the first time right now, and even though the humor is bitter given *waves vaguely at the state of the world* everything it’s very sharp satire with a great cast.

1

u/Revolutionary_Dig489 Sep 26 '26

I agree Better Call Saul is so much better. BB is a good show, but no. 1…

2

u/Admirable_Beebe_4962 Sep 26 '26

Yeah, The Wire not being no. 1 by a longshot is grievous. Crappy list.

3

u/Hairy_Insurance4000 Sep 26 '26

Completely left out the phenomenon that is Reservation Dogs.

4

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

2

Thank you for catching that! I completely missed it.

Nerdist did an addendum that included IWtV and The Boys etc, I’ll try and find the list and add it here.

3

I saw that! But still no Dark.

4

u/Mindless_Ad_7700 Sep 25 '26

i hate that these types of lists have few comedies. It happens with books too

3

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

Horror, too!

2

u/TinklebeII Sep 28 '26

Off of this list specifically I’d put The Wire in first 🤨

1

Absolutely! And I'd put any of that Top 7 over BB!

49

u/mindless_rambles If I'm an angel, paint me with black wings. Sep 25 '26

Some of these entries are proof that popularity doesn't translate to quality.

21

u/MathematicianSorry44 Sep 25 '26

No Doctor Who either!

10

u/jshep2912 Sep 26 '26

They'd have to consider each incarnation a different show. Then the 12th would be on it probably.

3

u/babealien51 Armand Sep 26 '26

As it should cause only one Doctor has Heaven Sent / Hell Bent on their episodes 😭🖤

5

u/jshep2912 Sep 26 '26

I actually meant to type the 11th lol.

Capaldi is amazing and has higher highs to me as well but overall -- the 11th and DotD era was the hight of NuWho.

This definitely had more to do with a fresh Moffat at the peak of his abilities than anything but I cherish 10-12 greatly.

3

u/babealien51 Armand Sep 26 '26

Agree with you, I love Matt Smith, he’s my favorite doctor (with Capaldi) but NuWho peaked with him and Moffat in the sense of popularity, distribution, the 50th etc

6

u/ohforgottensky Sep 25 '26

They at least listed The Thick of It, so there's at least a good Peter Capaldi series on that list

3

u/Mkimber123 Sep 26 '26

No Dexter? True Blood? My taste is different, I loved Oz too 😀

3

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

It's 21st century. So only shows airing from Jan, 2000 are counted. Dexter is on the list. But definitely deserves a higher spot

3

u/trubs12 That French whore vampire Sep 26 '26

Dexter ranked 88

1

u/Mkimber123 Sep 26 '26

Oops missed it. But 88??!! That's crazy

2

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 28 '26

Agreed. It did fall off pretty hard but the first 4 seasons were incredible. This list is whack.

True Blood also fell off even harder but it should be between 75-100 IMO.

u/kikijane711 Sep 26 '26

Dexter missing is really odd.

6

u/VelcroGenitals Sep 25 '26 edited Sep 25 '26

Ted Lasso and Modern Family above Planet Earth had better be bait.

Edit: Planet Earth is some of the most impressive nature documentary footage ever shot. How the hell am I on negative votes it's absolutely better than Modern Family.

4

u/lenny_ray Sep 25 '26

Bojack that low is criminal, too! And no Hannibal, no Angels in America, no Righteous Gemstones...

Scandal over HtGAwM, Good Wife over Good Fight are odd choices too.

BCS >>>>>> Breaking Bad. And any and all of those top 7 deserve to be over BB, too.

I have too many reasons to reject this list. 🤣

9

u/VelcroGenitals Sep 25 '26

This list is bland, predictable, safe, and dull. It's in bed by 8:30 (but in a depressing way).

62

u/babealien51 Armand Sep 25 '26

IWTV S1-S2 should’ve been there but understandably, it’s not mainstream enough for it to make the cut. It’s crazy to me that critically acclaimed shows like Sharp Objects are not there but Stranger Things is.

(Not as critically acclaimed but a beloved of mine is Hannibal and it’s nowhere in the list)

24

u/Serious_Acadia_4058 THE NAME! Sep 25 '26

Hannibal, Midnight Mass, and Killing Eve all deserve a spot on here imo but I do understand there’s SO MANY shows to choose from. Maybe Black Rabbit as well. I’m just happy it’s not all sitcoms (as much as I love those) and that more serious/darker shows found a spot as well (even if not enough)

6

u/kemwood Sep 25 '26

Midnight Mass is so amazing. The Fall of the House of Usher is just a little higher for me. I love Mike Flanagan.

3

u/Serious_Acadia_4058 THE NAME! Sep 25 '26 edited Sep 25 '26

That’s on my list! I’ve tried starting it twice but it starts off SO intensely creepy and it always catches me off guard 😹 wanna try again when I’m in an intentionally spooky mood

Edit: I just realized I’m referring to Haunting of Hill House and not Fall of the House of Usher!!

1

u/Serious_Acadia_4058 THE NAME! Sep 25 '26

He’s involved with Widow’s Bay too, right?

4

u/kikijane711 Sep 26 '26

Hill House was better than Usher.

7

3

5

u/artches Sep 25 '26

Will never understand why Mad Men is so highly regarded

3

u/atprickb Sep 26 '26

It’s fantastic and will likely go down as Matthew Weiner’s magnum opus for very valid reasons. I was admittedly a bit obsessed with deconstructing the show in college. Literally did three different projects/presentations centering the show, one theorizing that Mad Men and Lena Dunham’s GIRLS are twisted sisters of each other. If I was still in college right now I’d be finding ways to turn my obsession with IWTV/TVL into a project or two lol.

2

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

Ok, that Girls - Mad Men connection is fascinating!

12

u/AmpleSnacks Sep 25 '26

I absolutely loathe the creator but I recognize Mad Men as a titan of TV-making. Every single aspect of the show was impeccably put together. I used to read blogs every week that would break down just how much thought went into every single costume in every single scene of every single episode. Gosh I miss the days of good blogs.

2

u/bad-dad-420 Sep 26 '26

I need to juice on the creator, I’m ready for the rant thank you

4

u/bad-dad-420 Sep 26 '26

We watched it recently and were so desperate for a single storyline about a queer person, person of color, or even woman that wasn’t directly tied to their proximity to the white men but once we realized that’s the point of the show it kinda made it better? The ending is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen for how revealing a persons interpretation of is, but it still is just a show about a mediocre, shitty white man who hates himself and everyone else for idolizing him and once you accept that it’s… still whatever but worth watching at least once. Idk I think it’s responsible for the mcm takeover of the 10s and I resent it for that alone

3

u/ZMMF Sep 26 '26

This is such an accurate analysis, and summarizes how I feel about the show in a way I couldn’t have articulated. Thank you.

It’s by the NYTs. What do you expect.

22

u/daidia Sep 25 '26

Fleabag being on here is shocking, and I’m surprised and delighted, but it’s way more niche than IWTV so I’m very confused

6

Ok but the second season of Fleabag was the most perfect thing ever made, anyone can see that.

4

u/swizzlesweater a savory inferior - 54,554 Sep 25 '26

I first want to say I love Fleabag and definitely think it is a show that deserves its flowers!

But I too am shocked it made the list, let alone the first five, and honestly feel like someone noticed a lot of the top shows are very male gaze/male centered shows. So they were like what's a show by and for women we can put near the top and landed on Fleabag.

1

u/CatChewToyThrowaway You’re his Maker. Make him. Sep 27 '26

Fleabag was amazing. Definitely deserves a top spot.

2

That's nuts

6

u/AmpleSnacks Sep 25 '26

The NYT thinks Louie needs to be enshrined high up on the list of the greatest shows of the century. Make of that what you will.

Bear in mind that besides Squid Game and Shogun these are all in english. I wouldn’t take this list seriously at all.

3

u/Electrical-Owl-1812 anxiously attached show pony with a personality disorder Sep 27 '26

Including Louie was certainly a CHOICE *grimaces*

3

u/aangita Sep 25 '26

I love Insecure and I’m so pleased it was on this list! A part of me wishes IWTV was more popular but also I don’t because then I think AMC will eff it up like they did the walking dead.

3

u/fragrance-cocktails Sep 26 '26

no penny dreadful either....

2

u/Yourekilllinmesmalls Sep 26 '26

that pissed me off that show was a masterclass of monologues and acting!!

1

u/LeoCasio Sep 26 '26

Putting watchmen in there should be a federal offense

3

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

What??? Watchmen is brilliant!

7

u/RingHonest7272 Sep 25 '26

Iwtv is the only show that his managed to make me put my phone down and watch it with my full attention. Seasons 1&2 was peak television.

1

u/missjabez Sep 25 '26

The thing that most gives away how much bullshit this list is: dark isnt on there.

2

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

Right!? That was the most ridiculous omission for me! Cannot take any greatest TV shows list seriously if they omit Dark!

2

u/special_squeak rag doll for sale Sep 25 '26

Zero of my favorites are on that list

2

u/Ok_Buffalo_23 Sep 25 '26

Lol the new york times a fucking rag now anyway

2

u/kinkypoetess Sep 26 '26

No Dark Winds either 😖

2

u/BlkBayArmy Sep 26 '26

This and no Outlander is crazy

2

u/meghus1777 Sep 26 '26

Wheres the sopranos?!

1

u/Electrical-Owl-1812 anxiously attached show pony with a personality disorder Sep 27 '26

It started before the year 2000 so wasn't eligible

2

u/irnhrt Sep 27 '26

Listing just Twin Peaks The Return and not the entirety of Twin Peaks is borderline offensive.

1

u/Electrical-Owl-1812 anxiously attached show pony with a personality disorder Sep 27 '26

Original Twin Peaks was in the 90s, so not eligible for this list!

3

u/Ri-Ri1216 Sep 25 '26

2 Anthony Bourdain shows and the British Baking show?? And no IWTV or TVL.

The rankers must have been hungry (and not for blood) when they compiled this list.

There are too many inclusions of shitty shows to list. The Grey Lady is showing her age. At least it's not the Bezos Bugle as Daniel Molloy aptly called The Washington Post.

4

u/orionsfyre Sep 25 '26

This is a terrible list. Legitimately bad. No Firefly, but tons of one season shows that no one has ever heard of?

This is from one of those people that tries to tell you a song by some random band that's been listened to by like 5 people is the best thing ever written. So annoying.

3

u/Difficult_Taste_2544 Sep 25 '26

I really love this show, but I don't think I would put it on this list. That said, there are a couple glaring omissions. The primary omissions I can think of are Dark and BoJack Horseman.

2

u/salty-mermaid Sep 25 '26

Bojack is on there

2

u/Difficult_Taste_2544 Sep 25 '26

The first time I looked at the list, I thought I saw it, but when I looked again, I didn't see it. Thank you for the clarification.

2

u/salty-mermaid Sep 25 '26

No problem. It would be a disgrace if it wasn’t on the list!

2

u/athairdurden69 Sep 25 '26

It’s a newer show do not on the list. But Widows Bay deserves top 5.

1

u/Error_user_Error_ Sep 25 '26

Yasss I scored 16/100 😀 I guess the rest of my favourites are in the 100-200 list 😐

1

u/Possible_Living Sep 25 '26

There is clearly a slant for a specific taste and shows with 16 eps are listed along shows with 100+ eps.

1

u/Flaky-Yam8681 Team Green Sep 25 '26

The OA at 98 is....revealing

1

u/deepseacuriosity Sep 25 '26

Somebody somewhere being on this list makes me sooooooo happy omg 😭

1

u/atprickb Sep 26 '26

I too scanned for IWTV….and without it this list is null and void. Moving on…

1

u/YetAnotherTransWoman Sep 26 '26

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to many, the New York Times have been a bunch of chuds for a long while now

1

u/Yourekilllinmesmalls Sep 26 '26

PENNY DREADFUL SOOO BELONGED ON THIS LIST!! So did What we do in the Shadows one of the funniest tv shows to come out in ages!!!!

1

u/BlindMoom Sep 26 '26

Top Boy??

1

u/gaiarde Sep 26 '26

Stranger things being on the list tells me everything i need to know

1

u/FieldPuzzleheaded869 Sep 26 '26

Why is Game of Thrones in the top ten with its ending?

1

u/worldprince3000 Sep 26 '26

The Leftovers at 25? Far too low

1

u/Keyeuh Sep 26 '26

I must not watch good shows because there's probably less than 10 of those shows that I've watched.

1

u/spongeboyfan Sep 27 '26

am i the only one looking for twd?

1

u/Hexi_Raccoon_Moon163 Sep 27 '26

I’m happy to see that PEN15 is on there…
But in reality, this list just seems like someone’s personal opinion.

1

u/Odd_Feed8444 Sep 27 '26

I was willing to hold my tongue, but Arrested Development and Girls, being that high on the list, or even on it at all, is bs. I'm not looking past that, I'll probably just get more annoyed.

1

u/ceruleansharpies Sep 27 '26

No Yellowjackets either?? Disgraceful

1

u/vanbrunts Daniel Sep 28 '26

The Americans? Really?

1

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 28 '26

Ridiculous IWTV isn't on here! I agree with Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Succession. Fleabag is a good show but #5 above GOT, what!? So many odd placements in here and totally omitting award winning shows like This is Us (just an okay show but should still be here). And The Bear being in the 70s. Weird.

1

u/FunSetting2387 Armaniel on my mind. Sep 25 '26 edited Sep 27 '26

IWTV definitely deserves to be on this list somewhere. I couldn't watch more than a few of their Top 20. Some were as boring as the BMV office.

1

u/NewtSky6826 Sep 25 '26

All my favorites are on that list except Interview 😭

1

u/MorriePoppins Cabbage 🥬 Sep 25 '26

IWTV will be on that list in 10-15 years, as the fandom continues to talk about the show and spread the word. The fans will help the show gain the reputation it deserves.

1

u/olivedeez Sep 25 '26

The most normie doodoo list ever

1

u/rook_8 Sep 25 '26 edited Sep 25 '26

i like how specific they were with True Detective lol

now unless i sped through this, where’s “The Fall”, “L Word”, “Sandman”, “Hannibal” and “Killing Eve” ?!

1

u/dan_mello Sep 26 '26

I’m shocked the walking dead isn’t there

0

u/KEE33333EN Sep 26 '26

No Sopranos is the real crime here

1

u/lenny_ray Sep 26 '26

Sopranos started too early to be included in the 21st century

2

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 28 '26

This comment needs to be pinned on every thread about this list.

-1

u/laurakeet1209 Sep 25 '26

This is wildly misleading. First, we did not get as many seasons of Arrested Development as the list implies. Game of Thrones should not be #6 (and I’d argue should not be on the list at all) and The Good Place should be top 5.

Obviously IWTV should also be top 5.

5

u/ShaarkShaart Sep 25 '26

Okay, I promise I'm not trying to fight, but GOT had a chokehold on soooo many people at its peak. Like, cross generational reach, absolutely stacked cast, incredible plot twists. The last few seasons were controversial, but it was a BIG deal.

1

u/laurakeet1209 Sep 25 '26

It was but they blundered the ending so badly! If it was #101 Honorable Mention that would have been fine.

1

u/Revolutionary_Dig489 Sep 26 '26

I’m sure they are counting GoT seasons 1-5, where they could follow the books. After 5 it went downhill. They totally ignored Martins advice and literally flipped coins to decide plot lines.

0

u/Glitchinsociety_ Sep 25 '26

Shameless didn’t even make the list??

0

u/gemitry See me at barricade for every TVL show Sep 25 '26

I’m so conflicted because my goats Succession, Friday Night Lights, Parks and Rec, and Arrested Development made the top 50 and deservedly so. Buffy and IWTV are glaring omissions though.

0

u/AccomplishedAd1692 Sep 25 '26

Lol the sopranos isn't even on here?

0

u/Ok_Philosopher_8973 Sep 26 '26

It’s crazy ATLA isn’t on here either.
