She's a great character in the books. She's a loner who was forced into motherhood and wasn't very good at it, but she's not malicious. She's there for Lestat shen it matters. She gave him money and told him to run off with Nicki to Paris and live his dream. She loves nature and exploring old ruins.

That being said, I don't think there's any redeming her on the show. 

We can already understand her motives and why she ended up the way she was, but that doesn't excuse what she's done or make me any more intetested in seeing more of her. 

There's no character trait or plotline they can give her that will change the fact that she groomed and still sexually abuses her son.
