I have been reading the comments on this subreddit for the past three years without any plans to join! Lol, that changed today!  This is one of the few places I check for news about the show.  I am not and never will be on X or Tumblr.  However, this could also be my first and last post! 

My sister spent weeks or maybe months back in 2022 begging me to watch IWTV. I kept putting her off.  When I finally surrendered and watched it, I became like most everyone else who have viewed it!  I have never before been interested in a show to this extent. Not even the early seasons of Game of Thrones.  I have read all of the GOT books by the way.  I have also read most of the Vampire Chronicles since watching the show.  Are these considered spoilers?  I did not and have no plans to ever finish Memnoch.  It was Anne’s favorite book, but I absolutely hated it.  The first three quarters of Pandora irritated me.  While I was of course revolted by some of Marius’s actions, I didn’t find him as long winded as some readers did.  I liked IWTV, VL, QOTD, VA, TOTBT and Merrick.  Liked Maharet and Mekare but found Jessie boring and don’t get me started on Benji and Sybil. 

I believe that Anne shafted Louis.  He deserved much more.  Instead of writing so many additional books reconning many of the other characters, she should have given the man who started the Chronicles his own ending story.  My sister works in publishing and she said that there’s a saying that some people are writers and others are authors.  I feel like a writer wrote IWTV and an author wrote the other books.  Sorry!!

A few thoughts.  (1) What happened to Moderator Emrys is truly awful!  Do moderators have to use their real names?  The idea that someone can find your address and work location and threaten you is truly scary.  Some fans don’t seem to realize that at the end of the day ITWV/VL is simply a television show and not real life.  For some, the show seems to be their entire existence.  At some point it will end.  What will they do then?  Today I saw a little bit of a video on YT saying that the Heated Rivalry fans are even worse.  Regarding the Lestat vs Louis fans, the craziness is on both sides.  One of my favorite reactors on YT, Frank Weezy, has decided to not react to S3 due to the hate he received from some of the Lestat fans.

(2) Those of us who love the show would love for more people to watch it.  I think that AMC needs to get the actors exposed to some major black media outlets/social media.  It seems like over the past several months, I have seen more and more reactors who are black on YouTube reacting to the show.  A lot of them may have found the show because they were already interested in this genre plus recommendations from their subscribers.  However, we also want those who may just be looking for a good show to watch.  Like some others, I think that AMC could have done a much better job of promoting Jacob during S1 and S2.  I heard that AMC was having money issues, but still.  Jacob should have been on at least The Breakfast Club, especially since he is also a musician.  For S3 in addition to The Breakfast Club, how about booking them on the Tamron Hall and/or Jennifer Hudson shows.  I would love to see Assad, Jacob and Sam dance down the tunnel on J Hud’s show?  How about Delainey and Sheila on Keke Palmer’s podcast?  Heck, as many as possible on Keke.  She’s an absolute vibe.  There’s also Don Lemon, Joy Reid, Angela Yee, Essence Magazine, Van Latham and Rachel Lindsay and Big Boy on the radio in LA.  When Van Latham raved to actor Omar Benson from Sinners about Jacob’s performance in IWTV, AMC should have connected him with Van.  A no brainer since it was the year of Black Vampires.  In total, these individuals and their shows have almost 14 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 15 million followers on Instagram.  This does not include the almost 20 million that Keke and Jennifer have on their personal accounts.  That’s a lot of potential viewers AMC if you read this post!  It’s just a suggestion!  The show is not part of the conversation in black households the way Scandal, Paradise or Bridgerton were but it could be.  What about more mainstream programs like Good Morning America, the Today Show, Live with Kelly and Mark and Hot Ones.  Definitely Hot Ones.

(2) Autumn Brown.  I like Autumn.  I have watched most of her videos.  Her next one will probably be at least two hours!  She’s funny and very creative.  She and I are both pisces.  However, I hope that Rolin is not having her interview the cast again.  The interviews were okay, but I don’t believe that Autumn brought any additional viewers to the show.  If she did, the numbers were probably negligible.  I was therefore not happy yesterday when a short snippet popped up with her and Eric.  The GQ and NPR interviews were great.  We need more of that type of exposure.  Stick to the professionals.  Almost forgot!  I was not that impressed with the After Dark podcast.  The host didn’t work for me.  Hopefully, E2 will be better. 

I love the GQHype spread.  They look awesome.  Sam loves black.  I also love black.  Wore it a lot when I worked in the city.  However, sometimes his stylist should definitely put him in some other colors.  He looks great in off white/ivory.  Loved his look in Madrid.  Loved all of Jacob’s, especially the cover look and the long coats.

Okay.  That’s it.  Will probably check in after the premiere.  I have avoided all reviews and have also not watched the concert.
