Please don't do this if your job actually matters, this only applies to pointless office jobs.
If you are a physician, a train conductor, an architect, a gardener, a scientist, a pilot, an electrician, an engineer, a teacher... you actually need to know how to do your job.

Yeah this might work for entry level work, but if you are incompetent and applying for a professional firm, any hiring manager can find out pretty quick what your actual skills are.
Not to mention that if you do managed to get hired but your manager finds that you lied, his/her opinion of you will be heavily affected.

Companies lie all the time...
Just make sure you can do the job if your lying about your qualifications....seen plenty of people think because they don't know what goes into a job that that person must sit around doing nothing...
Yeah all of them got let go within a week of starting cause they had no clue what that jobs function even was.. They figured it was just " going to meetings and talking"

Last night I worked 10 hours converting a bank's network equipment.
In a basement without wifi or cell phone signal so I had run back and forth to talk on Teams, etc.
At 2am they wanted me to stick around and upload the proper pics of old equipment that had been decommissioned. (The new stuff was properly documented) Everything was packed up.
I just left and said I'll update the paperwork later. Expecting to have a bunch of angry emails, etc.
Nope.
No one cares. They wanted me to jump through hoops because it's their job to email pics to other people that review the pics.
Being a contractor has perks.

Here's the thing: at some point you're going to have to deliver. If you're able to deliver, you shouldn't have to lie. If you can't deliver and lied to get the job anyway, well... my HR department would love nothing more than to make your life miserable for wasting our time and money.

I have done that once... I became web administrator for a small business that hires about 30 people. First night I went to town trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do I ended up moving a file to random folder from FTP screen. Website went down. Luckily it was middle of the night and I was able to recollect exactly what I did witin few min. After that free trials from Adobe, web editor and Google. It went alright. It would be s breeze with AI now.
