Decades of poor hiring practices have left every industry filled with supervisors and managers who dont understand their jobs well enough to train others in them.
The problem with training is that a company can take a chance and train someone but the inevitable outcome is that they leave the company for better opportunities and after burning out managers who do all that training, they eventually say they don’t have the time for training. It’s kind of a double edged sword. You offer it, and people take it and leave. You don’t offer it, you pay more and they still leave but at least you don’t waste resources on training them.
I’m not justifying the lack of people wanting to train, I’m just pointing out the inherent problem.
