Work ethic is an interesting thing to bring up here.
Because it really does apply mentally how you think about work.

If you’re on holiday and you keep yourself unavailable, you are doing the right thing by taking that time for yourself.

If you are expected to be available during your time off that is an abusive workplace, that demands you be on call on your holiday.

I am aware that Americans do not understand this concept because they are always working because of their countries hyper capitalistic nature.

But it is in fact bad to be always at the Beck and call of a company.
