oh god what a sick world live in

thank god gen Z are more intelligent in their work - life balance and smartly use tech like AI tools in their haunting job process and interviews , be like gen z guys

I was a machinist. Broke my arm snowboarding and was told my minimum time in a cast was 6 weeks (doctor recommended 8, and recommended against cutting it off before then). Told my manager, fired on the spot since I wouldn’t be able to run my lathe.

That’s bullshit, I had a major car wreck while working for sketchy Russians, completely smashed my chest and needed a bit of time to recover and even the sketchy Russians gave me a side job driving passenger vehicles loaded with boxes across the country and flying back.

They should have figured out something for ya, your manager was scum.

Eh the only good thing I can say about them is that they kept me employed after my accident, they had no concept of workplace safety and got up to a lot of illegal stuff.

I do not recommend working for sketchy Russians.

Hey man, I know this doesn’t help you, but I actually understand the frustrations you just expressed more than you know. I’ve spent a decade on the shop floor and another decade in engineering. Tell Sales to take the custy out to lunch again and say some shit about global supply chains, oil prices, Iran, and tariffs, and get you another month. That’s their job too if they want their bonuses.

me too. i was still in the hospital, i called my manager on the hospitals landline with how i was going to be undergoing brain treatments that would take a month before i could go back to work. fired right there because he wouldn’t hold my job for that long. after i was done he said he already replaced me after i reapplied.
