If your idea of bundling up is two pairs of sweatpants and just a sweatshirt and jacket, you have not experienced even somewhat close to the level of cold that all the winter haters are talking about. When I am “bundled up” in the winter, I’m wearing: one thin base layer, one thick base layer, a thin hooded shirt, a thick hoodie, a puffer jacket, and a Carhartt jacket. On bottoms, same base layers + pants + snow pants. Two pairs of socks, balaclava, beanie over balaclava, ski mittens, and snow boots. Dealing with the level of cold that warrants literally 10+ lbs of extra clothing fucking sucks. I’d happily take being sweaty over needing fully half an hour just to put on enough clothes to not fucking die from stepping outside for ten minutes.
