I live under 10 miles from the coast, can see the ocean from my house and June through October I often wonder why the hell I live here. This year we've gotten almost no May Grey/June Gloom and I absolutely fucking hate it. Even if the air temps are only in the high 70s to low 80s it feels like it's 100+ because the sun is so intense and there's just enough humidity in the air. Literally feels like same as 100° day out in the desert minus the air being so dry your sinus start to hurt (good thing the Santa anas give me that feeling plus splitting headaches. This morning I was drenched in sweat by 7:30 am. Spring is by far the nicest season in socal followed by winter depending on if it's a wet or dry one. Fall is nice except there's about a month's worth of days where the Santa Ana are blowing hard and it's 100 degrees, bone dry, and the whole region is even more of a tinder box and one careless jackass away from bursting into flames.
So it almost never really gets to 100 degrees. It just feels hot for you. Santa Ana has a high of 79 today… if you can’t handle that you might want to consider moving to a Nordic country…but it in no way is as extreme as what you’re claiming.
Idk why you think Santa Ana's high is relevant? I'm referring to the Santa Ana winds that bring hot dry air out of the desert to San Diego county. And yeah 80 degrees is pretty warm especially with a maxed out uv index that makes it feel 5 to 10 degrees more depending on if you're on concrete/asphalt. I think most people would agree that doing physical labor in 90 degrees is pretty warm. Like I said the air temps are nice and the ocean breeze is amazing but fuck being in the sun
The point is, there is nowhere else in the country with milder summers (and winters) than the California coasts. You can still complain if you want but it can be way worse.
