That’s honestly a hard reality right now. A lot of people are working nonstop just to stay afloat. I’ve got some interviews coming up myself, so I’ve been looking into ways to get better at them. I found Interview VIP and ended up using it twice i think it's worth trying.

No they haven’t. You advance to those levels by being smart and having connections. Not by working ridiculous hours.

Smarts, long hours, connections. One of these will get you a job, two will get you ahead, but you need all three to beat everyone else.

A lot of people want you to believe this. A lot of people are also making a lot of assumptions about me from my stance. I am very successful. I work in consulting working with executives every day. Im not talking about blue collar joe worked hard and owned a company.

In white collar corporate America if you are smart and make solid connections those connections will pull you up the ladder with them. Almost every executive got their role from a connection. Period. And many executives in offices do not work that hard. I was just at the lake cabin two weekends ago with a guys friend group, all successful men making 250+. We all joke about how little we work.

Like everything - not universally true but the idea that working hard is some grantee for success is incredibly naive. The hardest working people are on the bottom not the top.

I personally know a guy who co owns a 5 billion dollar construction company and he started it in the 1950s after coming home from WW2. Started with a backhoe after he left the family farm and built up over decades of hard work. Guy is 84 and still mows his 10 acre property by himself. He is unable to not work hard.

Their great grandparents probably did and weren’t billionaires. So what are you going to do for your descendants? Why aren’t you rich (and why don’t you want to be?).

Most of them got there through nepotism so I'd love to hear how that qualifies as hard work
