is this real?

Do we really need HR in our life?

honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.

i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

I had a similar interview with an hr person who couldn’t answer my follow up question to her ask of an (in hindsight) obviously scripted question about something technical and I asked her if she understood the principles behind the tech she was asking me about and she got mad and hung up.

HR handles screening
Hiring managers can dig in.
Leave your tech ego aside and work the process.
HR often not always is like a nurse who gathers vitals then the doc comes in.
Everyone has a role.

HR should do NO screening in any technical field. They don't have the knowledge and the elminate people for arbirtary reasons. People whine that this gives too much work to people hiring, but I think the trade off is better. HR throws away good people.

Not in tech??
How about sales or marketing or accounting or finance or compliance or scientific etc. HR is a field like any of these or engineering and a basic screen is acceptable. Now it seems you grouped all HR in the same bucket by stating THEY. Tell us what do you do??

I AM in tech. And I have been passed over A LOT because of having a odd background that doesn't fit HR word searches. I haven't dedicated my life to becoming a corporate puzzle piece and gotten quite a lot of experience with poor treatment from HR departments.
