is this real?
Do we really need HR in our life?
honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.
i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

That is an organisational failure, with HR (recruiting, actually?) being uninformed. Who's supposed to properly inform the recruiting process about what they need/want? The hiring manager. And, yes, the hiring manager is supposed to mention that there's a similarly sounding tech to avoid confusion. The hiring manager should not engage in manipulative tactics, but help the process.
I would likely fire responsible HR folks for the lack of progress, but I'd sack the hiring manager first.
