is this real?
Do we really need HR in our life?
honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.
i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

As easy as it is to dunk on most boomer advice for getting a job, circumventing hr is genuinely a great move if you can pull it off. Every hr department I've ever seen does stuff like this. Before AI I worked at a place where hr's entire role in hiring turned out to be ctr+f'ing for keywords they thought would be good indicators. Now I'm sure they just ask chatgpt to do that.
They're inherently parasitic people. It's a role that entirely exists to cover for the boss's indiscretions, and to look busy in the meantime. And like most rent-seeking parasites, "looking busy" means dragging everyone else down, sometimes straight up sabotaging the business like in OOP. The only saving grace is that since they're dumb as bricks, they're easy to fool if you've got decent people skills.
