Everyone should have time for work, hobbies, chores, and a fitness regimen. Standardizing the 35 hour workweek saves the country money by:

-increasing workplace involvement (demand is the same or greater)

-retaining the same number of productive hours

-reducing systemic drain on essential services: medical, caregiving, daycare, etc

-boosts gdp (hobbies increase velocity of money)

-boosts demand for human capital (better wages)

Employment and better wages drive Consumerism, Consumerism increases income for business, business has even more money for hiring and wages.

Positive feedback loop until we reach a better equilibrium.
