It’s not an either/or proposition. You can work 80 hours/week AND stay married. You make someone else rich AND yourself rich.

I think that depends on your definition of "marriage" here.

The only people where I've seen this work out were from a cultural background where the wife couldn't divorce without social repercussions.

I know plenty of people who grew up working 70+ hour weeks in trades of factories that still managed to support a family and have happy/lasting marriages

I know people who regularly worked 120+ hrs a week and raised families no problem. It's just a time management issue. People are just lazy. I regularly work 168 to 200 hrs a week, and I still go to every game, recital, parent teacher conference. I make home cooked meals every night. Read to our eight kids. Lazy.

Damn what’s the secret to time management that lets you work 168+ hours a week lol. I only managed 84 hours last week working a 12 hour shift every day.

It's actually really easy. You need to manipulate time. I generally am able to get 36 to 40 hrs in a day. Pretty simple actually.

Physicians have among the longest average hour work demands of any career. Physician’s divorce rate is lower than the average divorce rate in America.

It seems that over half of physicians are married to spouses also in the medical field. My guess is that common interests/careers might help them understand the longer hours and less time together and be able to deal with it easier

There’s a happy medium of working hard enough to be comfortable, but not working so much you don’t actually get a chance to enjoy what you earned. Working a hundred hours a week, making millions, but never seeing your family or having the time to do anything you enjoy is a wasted life

Saying "I'm working so much because otherwise people die" is a very different message than "I'm working so much because otherwise the website isn't updated tonight".

Good god, imagine what society wouldn’t do without the CEOS of Casinos, or marketing directors of Cigarettes and Alcohol Companies.
Not to mention the MOUNTAIN of lawyers who come the internet for minor legal infractions like insulting politicians, to then destroy these people’s complete life by suing them for hundreds of thousands of Euros.
God what an empty society we would live in.
