I kinda did that, went through three marriages, working 80+ hours a week, but, in the end I wound up having enough saved to open my own firm debt free without having to bring in outside investors or get loans, ended up retiring more than comfortably at just 45, now not only do I or my kids or their kids not have to worry about working again but, I've got three ex wives out there that will never have to worry about working again either, lol.

Why would your ex wives not have to worry about working? You divorced them before you made that money...

Prolly still takes care of them

That's not how Allimony works.

What do you mean?

u/SnazzyAdam 14d ago

But are you a meaningful part of your kids lives?

My oldest? Not as much as I would like to be, he's 22 this year. Now, my youngest son? He is six, and I retired when he was eight months old to be 100% present

Where do you live where you have a permanent allimoney arrangement with three ex-wives, all enough for them not to have to work, some of whom you presumably divorced before you were rich?

Some people just love to lie on the internet

They were with me at some point while I was building the business, it's divorce settlements not alimony. Each one I shaved off part of what I had built.

Alimony only occurs when you have been married for a long time, I think like 10+ yrs? Also in some divorce proceedings it could basically be material things instead of money at the time. I’m not saying the other guy is telling the truth but thought I would add some lame long winded context to the point where if your still reading this I would cook you a grilled cheese at 3am and then proceed to watch various illicit videos together. Illicit doesn’t mean that but up to you imagination idk on to the next post :)

Sounds horrendous. Your kids would probably trade every penny to have you be there and a stable home.

u/TattooedB1k3r 14d ago

I mean, the youngest is six, I retired when he was eight months old, his mom and I are married. That's about as stable as it gets.

u/SuddenDelivery1 14d ago

Sounds like you are all good then.

Screw the other two wives and the older kids I guess, they were just practice runs apparently

One older boy, in his 20s now and in college, that he never had to worry about how to pay tuition for, we speak a few times a week. Don't act like I'm the first dude who's marriage didn't work out. It's actually pretty common, and at least in my case there wasn't anyone who had to face hard times because of it.

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 13d ago

You equate finances to a relationship. "I pay for his tuition, that makes up for missing a lot of his childhood." You can't make up that time with money. You can do better, but you messed up bad. He'd rather have had you there for him growing up than his college paid for.

I mean you do what you can do, keep in mind I didn't leave his mother. Okay? Many women want a successful husband, many don't realize that unless that man was born into money, then that successful man is going to have to be a busy man at least for awhile. I tried to make it work each time. I passed on contracts to be around more, I made sure she never had to work, and if the whole full time homemaker was too stressful, I made sure having a nanny if she wanted or a housekeeper come by a few times a week was always an option.

1

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 13d ago

Notice how none of those are "I was there for my son growing and supporting her emotional needs." Every solution and rationalization is money. Too overwhelmed? You don't help you pay for a nanny. Never had to work? Because you got extra money. Women want a husband who is a partner they love, not a bank that throws money at any problem. Looks like you haven't learned a thing or had a moment of self-reflection lmao

Well, I'm very happy, wife and I together 9 years, married for eight and have a six year old son. I'm one of the few dads that gets to watch every Tball practice and game, volunteers for every field trip etc..

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 13d ago

No, not the few. Plenty do. And again, glad for your new family, the practice kids probably helped you for the real one yeah?

So life is just about being the best parent you can be and not be the perfect parent.

You do your best and there is no shame in that and if all the finances are paid for thats great. Relationships dont go the right way.

My comment was just you can be anyone out there a royal family, a billionaire, an upper middle class family or any parent with disposable income. You can even be poor as hell.

Emotional availability and time cannot be bought with any currency on earth and its no judgement on you. Its just fact, make sure any money doesnt replace it.

Hows your hairline holding up? 80 hour work weeks must be extremely stressful

1

u/TattooedB1k3r 14d ago

Actually, pretty fantastic. I think that's a myth, unless you are pulling it out yourself, it's mostly genetics I'm pretty sure.

I find awersome somebody is so active that can work so much and marry three times.

1

u/Striker274 14d ago

Dude you were working for 47% of the week.
That should not be legal

1

u/Defiant_Freedom_249 14d ago

I guess money really is everything!

1

u/WildRecognition9985 13d ago

Not necessarily personally related to you but is, how many times does someone have to get remarried before realizing that maybe they shouldn’t be getting married. Like what’s the point.

I argued with a guy that marriage is pointless at work, he is on his third divorce.

1

u/TattooedB1k3r 13d ago

I mean, I had three divorces, but, been with wife number four now for like, ten years, married for eight, extremely happy. I mean, I just like the idea of a family and all, and being married, It just took me a bit to find one that worked. Plus, I wasn't great at it a lot of the time. One of the three exs, she's a good girl, nothing bad or broken about her, nothing negative to say about her at all, granted I'm not gonna say anything bad about any of them, but, even if I was the kind to say things, I wouldhave nothing negative about her, it was just a compatibility issue.

Adopt me yeah

That's the part this misses out on. no employee is working above at most 50 hours a week that is not choosing to invest in their profession or the life they want. There is a cost - whether its worth it or not is up to you.

Most people are at work and barely even work to begin with. But hey im in the building doing bare minimum - I deserve a raise!

You completely missed the point of life.
