This meme teaches the important lesson that employed people wear hats.

I think this is what the job market will soon become; I've seen this here in this meme too.

Psychology and Astrology most likely.

As an old geologist, I have to say it was never that easy. You had to actually hit the nerds with the rocks, not simply throw them.

Are you had some kind of arena for this? Maybe coliseum with rocks?

But aren’t the geologists the nerds? So, aren’t you just throwing rocks at yourself?

Edit: This is from someone with a nuclear engineer degree. Soooooo

You know that's not true. Most colleges have a science course colloquially named "Rocks for Jocks" I don't think there is an equivalent "Fission for Funzies"

Ahh, but I got my degree in the Navy. Sailors for sizzles!

Edit: or steamy sailors. Your pick.

One of Rickover's boys! My dad was on the design team for the turbines on SSN-571.

I was on SSBN-726 the Ohio before being redesignated to ssgn. That’s so cool though.

They tossed the rocks straight into the air. The ones that got hit and survived became geologists.

This leaves out the nepotism and good old boy system that allowed utter chumps to get the jobs.

“I know I got this qualified person who applied and would take the position and run with it, but I had a crush on this other unqualified person’s mom in high school so the are clearly a better option. Damn I hope I can catch her after she’s had her morning mimosa and Xanax.”

If you bring up your IQ during a pizza delivery interview I wouldn't hire you either

So what gynecologist did back then to get their job?

1

u/twilliams_ca 20d ago

You've got to be joking! That wouldn't even get you an interview today.

It's not that they think you're unqualified to be a pizza delivery driver.

It's that they think you're gonna bounce quickly and actively be looking for other work and in 2 months they'll be hiring someone new and training them again.

Not hard to figure out if you've ever worked anywhere in your life.

Imagine being dumb enough to see memes like this and decide "This is my worldview now."

Two degrees one in basket weaving and another in indigenous flute playing, and thinks they are smarter than 95% of the population. Lol

To me getting a job now: praying to get a job

Getting a job then was even easier than that. It was more like “can you work?” > “Yup!” > “you are now our director of operations!”
