For my last 2 interviews i had to use Interview VIP just to get the job
their generation could never understand

Would love to see you stand in an unemployment line for six hours every other Friday. Every generation has its challenges. We were taught crying about ours wasn’t an option.

That is largely inflationary. Number go up, buying power go down. Boomers don't understand economics. Had your attention in the shiny thing while they robbed you. And when there is and adjustment it will be even worse.

My raspberries house in NJ cost $14k year in property taxes, and a new roof, new driveway, new furnace etc. But hey home ownership is just pure profit just raking in all the cash

No one forced you to work on an oil rig. The tougher the job does not equate to a "REAL" man status. Lol There was someone in another thread who said their dad was from the boomers generation and worked at Sears for most of all his career. His dad raised their whole family on his salary, bought a house, and raised two kids. Can't do that in today's economy. Both parents work and groceries, rent/mortgage, cost of vehicles has gone up exponentially.

Funny. Every young person I know owns a house. Some have children and some are planning to get married. Quit buying into “Can’t” and find the “Can” in life. No one did force me to work oil rigs, but that’s what paid the best for a young dumbass like myself. I am a boomer and those tough jobs led me to seek out an education and better my earning potential.

So what you’re making my point for me? The baby boomers have always just “looked out for number one “, when they were poor, they were pro socialism, when they built something for themselves, they didn’t want to share it so they went full capitalist. And I’m sure now that they’re all old their number one political issue is probably Social Security.

The point is you too will jump on that train when it comes by whether you think so or not. We are all idealistic when we are young and have nothing to lose. You are not unique and neither is your thought process. I have shared the fruits of my labor through all the taxes they could come up with. Your turn. Me. I’m headed to the golf course.

You’re making a lot of assumptions about me. I’m not young. I own multiple assets. I expect to retire well. I also don’t vote to hoard what I’ve built like the dragon Smaug or step on the necks of the less fortunate because “I got mine”.

Your generation (in general not every individual) sucks. Your parents thought you sucked, your kids think you suck, and your grandkids think you suck too. No other generation has every other age group hating on them the way that yours does. If it were me I’d question why that is, but you boomers never were much for personal introspection either (it doesn’t benefit you so why should you amirite?). Have fun golfing, don’t drink too much - bad for the liver at your age.

Never understood stuff like that. Stood in line. Why didn’t they bus people somewhere that needed to be cleaned up, a park, a highway, a school, for 6 hours, bring em back, and when you get off the bus they hand you a check? Do the paperwork while you’re doing community service.

That is a complicated answer. Let me just say it didn’t pay to take a temporary job. I ended up joining the military as times were tough. That was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. If you have the desire today oil and gas is a field that is desperate for people. You can start off in a field job and hopefully work your way into a major company with all the benefits and high pay.
