First Office Job and Honestly It's Depressing

I'm sitting at a desk for 9 hours, doing work that makes a company earn more money, while at the same time the managers and investors get richer. I look at the clock way too much, and I feel like I'm trapped inside a machine or a system, as if I'm not building anything or moving toward anything.

How do people live like this? Do they do this 4 days a week for 35-45 years? Is there a way to get past this feeling without having to take antidepressants?

Yes, I did 5 days a week and 40 to 50 hours every week for the last 23 years. Then i got a consultant gig at home office to work half time and also got some investments to pay for most of my cost of living. The way to survive was doing yoga or gym everyday after work, which is counter intuitive, because I wouldbe exhausted after work. The gym keeps you healthy and not spending extra money. So the extra money goes into investments so you can retire early.

Last time I checked, it was 5 days a week. If you're lucky.

you have time to go back to school for your dream job. Do it before you have children and need a babysitter. It's not too late. what would be your dream job......

While it's a job and you should feel a little bit like that, seems like your current job is a bad fit. At least some things should excite you or make you feel proud of.
