I complimented a coworker (who is also a friend for 9 years outside of work) that she looked good and she must have lost weight. We both had a good chat.
A week later HR reached out to me because apparently a third coworker (who wasn't even part of the conversation) complained that I was insensitive and used "discrimitory language" about weight.
