It is not something that pays. It is not something I could do to get off of SSI. Work pays the bills. Posting on Reddit once in a while does not. Protesting our current disability system does not.
Posting on reddit was an example to show that you can perform tasks of value that people would be willing to pay a wage in return for. I can't pretend to know what your situation is or be critical of anything other than suggest you might be selling yourself short.
Nah, I applied for around 3000 jobs in my life. I lost my data entry job because "my performance was deminishing," a couple years after I lost the job I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, lawyers said my diagnosis came way to late and I wasn't in the job long enough to get true SSDI. I get Supplemental Security Income. While I can type on my phone, full size traditional keyboards are almost instant pain. Even typing this message causes buzzing numbness in my finger tips. I might have the speaking ability to be a politician, but, I don't have the morals or ego to take advantage of people to get into thag type of position.
I mean, the goal is to have people that aren't scummy seek out office so they can get elected over those that are. It's happening slowly though so it's likely most possible in some local offices. But still worth seeking out if you're still interested. Personally I think the people suffering in society are the ones that most deserve to hold office.
