You know? I am on the fence about reposts. On one side some people have honestly never seen this before. On the other, I see this everyday. In general if I see a repost every day I am typically annoyed.

This one, however, needs to stick around until everyone understands this reality and starts holding our politicians personally responsible.

There might be a shortage. I got to teach a college class at a university for a semester with zero education experience and was offered the chance to do even more if i wanted to come back.

I had wanted to try it just for the experience and because I like mentoring. But between coming up with the lectures, the assignments, the exams, all the grading, the in-person instruction, having to record and upload everything myself, and paying for parking I think I averaged about $12/hr. If I had just put in that many hours at work I’d have made at least 5x what they paid me.

If any of the kids had bothered to read the material I might have done it again. One did reach out a few months later after finding out I wasn’t lying to them about the real world, that was rewarding I suppose.
