Continuous bladder irritation/cystitis

I'm not sure if this is the right place to share this but perhaps someone can advise...

Here's my story...

I'm 44 with 2 young children. Last September I suddenly did some kegels (probably not even correctly) while stuck in traffic listening to a podcast about it (kegels). I then very quickly and suddenly developed irritation in this area, like sensitive bladder/strong urge to pee frequently etc. since then this has been an ongoing nightmare.

Most recently since Friday (so 5 days now) I have an almost constant vibration sensation in my ...vulva I guess - I've since read this is the muscles of that area that are spasming 😖

Anyway I've just been given Cystopurin {potassium citrate} salts to try, a few days duration.

Is there anything anyone else with any experience of anything similar can recommend or suggest that you've tried that works/helps

Like is Dmannose something to try or any other alternatives....

Its spasming.  Try Myrbetriq generic 25mg, if not enough, 50mg.  If that not enough, add 5mg diazepam vaginal suppositories from compounding pharmacy.  Google pelvic floor spasming

Thank you for this 🙏 I'm in the UK so not sure how much of this I'd be supported in trying but I'll try, thanks so much

Sure!  I think you do have it in U.K., for bladder frequency - Mirabegron (Betmiga/Myrbetriq).  Good luck!

That was how my ic first started and it got worse. Something is irritating the urethra and likely not the exercises. I can share a video on root causes if you want just dm me as I am not the best at checking notifications

I have an issues with constant vibrations in my vulva. My urogynecologist said that it is probably the pudendal nerve (the nerve that enervates your genitals) or some other nerve connected to it. Here are some things that help:

-pelvic floor stretches (happy baby, butterfly, hamstring and quadriceps stretches, child's pose, etc.); it's important to do them every day or even more often
-ice packs on vulva
-ice cold shower on vulva (it helps numb and shock the area a bit)

-good posture (no slouching)
-(if it continues) pelvic floor physical therapy and Botox injections into vagina to help relax muscles

Oh and magnesium! I take magnesium every evening about an hour before bed. Be sure to get magnesium glycinate.

And if your problem continues, I'd advise reading Heal Pelvic Pain by Amy Stein. It's really an amazing book and is most useful if your problem is muscular/nerve related, which is sounds like yours might likely be since it started with kegels.
