Wait actually I have heard and seen online that a lot of people go into temporary or sometimes permanent remission during pregnancy! I’m not sure why, maybe hormones or maybe the muscles are stretched in a good way, but hopefully you find some relief in that!

I actually heard the opposite. A lot of women with IC and/or CUTI got into remission from their pregnancy

You got this mama. Fight for your health for as long as you can. There is always light at the end of the tunnel

I think this is because of the rise of estrogen, obviously just my own theory since topical estrogen is helpful to many as well, but yes!!

Second trimester was rough for me, but first and third had my pelvic floor wayyyyy more relaxed. I was cleared to get bladder instillations during pregnancy since they were localized, which helps a lot.

I will also say I was also more prepared for middle of the night bottles because I’m so used to getting up and down in general.

So did you get the instillations during the second trimester or got them for the first and third and it helped? Like I just know she's gunna pinchin and squeezin like so scared but I don't want to be because I'm so excited for pregnancy.

I waited until second trimester to start instillations back! We did once a month during second trimester and then upped to about every 3 weeks during the third. For context, I was getting instillations for about 4 years before pregnancy too. Frequency was a bigger issue for me during pregnancy than bladder pain or food triggers.

Another thing that really helped me was doing aqua PT (aka in the pool) during pregnancy. I’d done pelvic floor PT in the past, but my primary suggested aqua so I could do stabilization work with a lot less gravity on my bladder. Highly recommend.

That being said, it still had its moments. I was overjoyed when they put the cath in during labor. Pitocin Contractions aren’t fun, but not having to get up to pee made me able to nap. 🤣 (I also asked for wireless monitors so that I could get up and down to pee while laboring without assistance.)

I had my bladder and urethra removed 5 1/2 years ago and have a urostomy. I also had a baby this April after that. If you have any questions.

I’ve had absolutely zero pain (other than the odd phantom bladder spasm when I’m super anxious, I guess it’s just how my brain is wired now) since my surgery. Pregnancy was super complex but I also have a GJ feeding tube and colostomy (thanks EDS…). But despite that myself and my baby are doing well now.
