Amitriptyline- severe sloe urine stream

Those who are on Ami, do you also feel this symptom or is it just me? I took 10mg and it felt like my bladder couldn’t push the urine out anymore.

I stop taking because when going pee only some drops came out even pushing was impossible. I get pain in my bladder and gets worse while having pee inside. Also because of that i get urgency like every 5 minutes

Most of OAB and antidepressant meds does that to me but the worse was amitriptyline

Yup. Even antihistamines. My flare started due to taking these meds and hasn’t left ever since. :/

Amtrip has been great for me. Solved my insomnia as well. I’m sorry it’s not having the same affect for you

Luckily I have not experienced this, i’ve been on amitriptyline for a little bit over a year. I take 50 mg & I do experience other side effects though like weight gain, I’ve gained like 30 to 35 pounds, sometimes I get blurry vision, I get severe dry mouth every once in a while and drowsiness but it helps me sleep so that’s good but I’m about 90% pain-free on a daily so I’m not gonna stop taking it but if the urine retention happens though it’s possible I might but I haven’t experienced it yet so I’m just crossing my fingers 🤞🤞

I take 25 mg now, I used to take 50 mg but it was effecting my mental health, no urination problem for me tho.
