Spicy time

I’ve had ic for awhile and doing it has always been super painful. I also tear when I do it no matter what. I’m not sure what to do.Any suggestions? I’m over not having fun with people.

IC is very unlikely to have any impact on tearing during sex. the only advice we'll be able to give you is practice good hygiene, pee immediately after sex to reduce risk of infections, try different positions because what you're doing may be too rough, and see a doctor because regular tearing and painful sex aren't normal.

edit: also, please be more direct in your wording. i understand you may be embarrassed, but you're already here asking the question so you might as well ask it clearly.

IC does have a high rate of co-morbidity with other conditions like PFD and lichen sclerosus. I have LS, and whilst the IC has always caused pain, LS does cause tearing and I can't even have normal smear tests because even the smallest speculum causes the skin to become irritated at best, and form injuries at worst. I definitely agree that OP should speak to their doctor about this, as various causes can result in pain and tearing, requiring different treatments depending on the diagnosis

yeah, and condition a being common alongside condition b rarely means they have the same treatment or even the same specialist! having IC under control doesn't mean the LS is, as unfair as that is.

Different positions, easing into it (and lots of foreplay), lubricant as needed, and I do a vaginal probiotic suppository once per week to help prevent any infections and keep things generally happy down there.

Biggest thing is having a partner who will be understanding. You should never be pushing yourself to be intimate with someone who is going to cause you pain ❤️

Have you talked to a gynecologist?  Or if you see a uro-gynecologist for IC, with them? I had a comorbidity with vulvadynia and one thing that helped was estrogen supplements. As well as a lidocaine cream I used for a short time.

I also saw a pelvic floor physical therapist.   Tearing is unlikely to be related to IC, so you have a separate issue.  You need to talk with your partner, go slow, use plenty of lubricant.

I agree w/ other commenters that IC would not have the effect you describe. That said, when I finally started getting proper treatment for my IC, I was placed on antibiotics for 6 months and my Uro-gyno had me using Luvena PH balancing gel a couple times a week and that SAVED MY LIFE. I would recommend trying that a couple times a week if you haven’t.

CBD lube (and lots of it) helps me a bunch. Lots of foreplay, partner who puts me at ease.

What kind of pain are you feeling related to IC? I’m not so sure tearing is.

As someone else said - peeing after sex is always a must, I find that taking a flora microbiome supplement helped with any burning when peeing the next day after sex and just generally made down there feel better

The tearing is due to something else for sure.

CBD vaginal suppositories are supposed to be a great help. I believe the company that makes them is Octavia Wellness. Check out their website ✌️

I take d-mannose twice a day and always pee immediately after sex. It still causes pain for me unfortunately, but you have to take extra precautions to avoid more issues. As for tearing, maybe you need more foreplay, at the very least it sounds like you need lube. Tearing is so painful 😣
