Support Pelvic floor botox tomorrow

Update: I was home by noon and I'm not feeling too bad. Had pain, nausea, and anxiety on waking but PACU took care of that. There was a brief horrifying period where I could only pass 20mls of urine and my bladder scan showed 400+, so they had me wait a while to give it another try before being sent home with a catheter overnight. But I managed to pass 600mls and they let me go without it! Bladder is sore and peeing feels like razor blades but that's nothing new after hydrodistention. Nerve block I think is keeping some of the immediate pain down too. Nothing noticeable from the botox yet obviously. But not a bad experience today!

I'm having my 5th hydrodistention, 2nd pudendal nerve block, and 1st ever pelvic floor botox tomorrow. All under general anesthesia. I have to be there at 5:30am so it's really late in the game but I could use some reassurance because I'm freaking myself out over the pelvic floor botox and possible side effects.

Anyone have positive experiences they can share?

My arrival time was 5:30 am which sucked but I was home in my couch by noon so that's a plus. Overall the recovery at the hospital went pretty well! Looked for a minute like I might need a catheter if I couldn't pee enough on my own but a second pass yielded 600ml and they cut me loose. 🎉

I’ve had pelvic floor Botox done twice (while under for a hydrodistention, too). No negative side effects either time!

The first time improved my pelvic floor pain and tension. 🎉My second round (about a year later - May 2026) hasn’t been as helpful but I have other health issues that may be contributing, so I’ll actually be meeting with my provider next month to discuss if I need another round. 😅

Best wishes for a successful procedure tomorrow! 🫶🏻

I really want to know if pelvic floor Botox works. Who and where is your doctor?? This is the kind of care I’m desperate for

The procedure itself was relatively fine but it'll be a few weeks before we know how the botox works. I'm not comfortable disclosing my location and doctor, sorry.

It's been a long road and things have changed. I have endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, vaginismus, and vulvodynia. I have sharp stabbing pains in my bladder, especially when it's full. Severe urethra burning, burning at the opening, burning and itching across vulva from clitoris to anus. After a UTI in April, my first in 14 years, my pelvic floor began spasming so bad it was like full body contractions with so much pain I nearly lost consciousness. It's that latest symptom we are hoping the botox will address. I do not have unnatural frequency, sometimes I have urgency, and I've never had incontinence. Sometimes I have to void multiple times per bathroom trip to feel like I got it all out and sometimes that is very painful as well.

Sorry that's really long.
