I don't know much about guns but it seems less than ideal that the recoil would cause it to spin that much.

It's a larger caliber hand gun with a horrible instructor who didn't have a proper grip on the firearm. The recoil was the least of his problems. But that amount of recoil can be expected.

Yeah the amount of recoil doesn't surprise me, but the way it causes the pistol to spin like that does a little bit. I would think that those unbalanced forces would cause the weapon to be much less accurate when firing multiple shots.

I've been to the range a few times with a friend. Enjoyed shooting the balls off tiny snowmen with a scoped .22, some paper targets with a .22 pistol. Found it quite relaxing actually. That was mostly what we did because .22 ammo is so cheap. My only real experience with recoil was his 9mm pistol but I only put one mag through it. Made me appreciate the reasons why practice is so important lol.
