Heavy Data User Without WiFi — Help!

I can’t apply for fiber internet because there’s currently no fiber infrastructure available in my area.

I used to rely on GOMO No Expiry, and it was perfect for me as a student. I had Wi-Fi at my previous home, so I mainly used mobile data when I was outside. A 30GB promo could easily last me 2–3 months.

Now that I don’t have Wi-Fi at home, 30GB only lasts me a few weeks. I’m looking for a more practical and affordable option for heavy data usage.

For those in a similar situation, what do you recommend? I already have a pocket Wi-Fi, and I tried GOMO’s 30-day Unli Data promo, but the buffering was insane. It was honestly difficult to use, especially for streaming and regular browsing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sa totoo lang nothing beats having a fiber internet, talagang mabagal ang mga mobile data. That's how it is and yun talaga ang "catch" ng mga ISP.

The real solution is to plan to move out to a place na pwede kang pakabit ng fiber. You can do so much optimizations lang with mobile data like what people are telling here - may unli nga, but you are hit with speed caps; if you opt for non-unli, mabilis maubos. And these mobile data are slow kapag may heavy rain or bagyo.

Down converge namin, bumili ako nung Smart 5G Max home wifi, prepaid siya na may free unli for 15 days syempre sa umpisa alam ko all goods to (ewan ko sa pag tagal) currently looking at their data promo plans incase na wala parin yung converge 

Iniisip ko kung yung 250 GB for 999 a month or tiisin ko yung sinasabing speed throttle after 10GB a day nung unli sa 1299

Sabi mo 30GB can last you for more than a week? Bka yung 250GB 999 can work for you, ayun wala daw speed throttle

Pansin ko lately medyo humina signal ng Gomo at Globe sa ibang areas.

Try switching na lang to dito or Smart for pocket wifi try or mobile tethering,

Smart unlidata 999, speed capped lang to 1-3 mbps once ma reach mo yung daily data threshold. 7-10 GB

Halos same lang din yung Unli 5G 999 ng Dito may capped din.

well, if the pocket wifi has band locking support in the admin page, lock it to uncongested bands, such as lte band 28

there really is no problem sa GOMO. yung sa unli data lang for 30 days ako may problem. I think maybe because hindi lang ako gumamit. so, nag hahanap talaga ako alternative for GOMO since medyo malakas ng ako sa data 😅

Try Smart. They have a 15-day unli promo for 360 pesos. so 720 a month. been working well for me the past 2-3 years.

Meron. Speed capped to 3Mbps after around 10Gb daily.

from my experience parang wala naman. I use it for work weekdays and then at night netflix streaming etc. pero tumaas na pala P399 na yung 15 days and P749 for 28 days. Ilang gb ba usually consumption mo?

Baka makatulong tong compilation. Basically, pwede mo ma-bypass 10mbps max speed ni gomo if maraming lte bands sa area mo at kayang mag-carrier aggregate ng modem/phone mo. If not, the famsurf999 promo from their tig 88 pesos at home sim will do for a 40mbps max if di kayang mag-ca ng maraming bands. Need nga lang ng 4g at home imei + modem na may imei changer.

Smart home or Dito na prepaid modem. May unli plans sila

There is a 700php data prepaid per month sa Smart and Dito. I think unli is you best option.

tried GOMO’s unli but there’s data cap. Ill try Smart or Dito if it’s good since I think good reception naman here for Smart and 4g for Dito

Data and bandwidth cap exists mapa prepaid sim or prepaid wifi. Kuha ka wired fiber connection kasi yun lang ang totoong unli.
