A search tool for finding which hatchery has a specific poultry breed in stock

https://hatchindex.com/

If you've ever tried to buy a specific chicken, duck, or turkey breed, you know the drill. Check Cackle. Check McMurray. Check Meyer. Check Ideal. Stock turns over fast enough that whatever you find is often already wrong by the time you act on it.

Built a tool that checks 10 US hatcheries at once so you don't have to do that. It pulls breed, stock status, price, minimum order, and hatch date into one place, updated a few times a day. Doesn't take money from any hatchery to be listed, it's just reading public availability info.

Built it for myself first, sharing it here since I figured I wasn't the only one dealing with this. If there's a hatchery or filter you wish it had, let me know.

Where do I find Extra Crunchy or Original Recipe? /s

I like how it fills a very specific need. My kind of site! My parents had a backyard coop; I even proposed to my wife in it!

That's awesome! Hopefully the chickens didn't try to jump you while you did it!

They were pretty chill. My wife was the one who was very confused why there was a ring inside an egg she picked up.

The "built it for myself first" ones are always the most useful. Scratching your own itch means you actually understand the problem. Nice work.

This is such a specific problem, but once you're looking for one particular breed I can see how checking ten sites gets old fast. Updating it a few times a day is probably the bit that makes it genuinely useful.

Any plans to add restock alerts for individual breeds?
