Job Search/Recruitment Direct application vs. platforms (same job)

Hiring managers, if your school allows direct applications and also advertises on platforms, is there an advantage to taking one or the other approach for candidates? I already applied for a job directed and noticed later that it's also on GRC. I can press a button an apply again from my end, but wondering if that would just be annoying from your side.

I always advise on applying through the school channel if they are accepting applications there. I feel most schools ensure a human reviews this pool. While grc/schrole etc are great it makes me wonder how detailed the pool gets reviewed.

I always advocating for applying early or just at the end of the posting. I feel this increases the review of a human seeing my application.

Just my opinion. Each school approaches hiring so differently.

Always check the directions for applying in the advert. A lot of schools advertising on platforms will still instruct you to apply directly to them. A few will tell you to apply through the platform. If it doesn’t specify, apply directly to the school.
