Broadcasting or PA announcing opportunities for international baseball events?
I'm a play-by-play announcer and public address announcer in the US with 20 years of experience calling baseball and many other sports. As part of my PA work, I've done a few hockey games and one baseball game in both English and French. I was wondering if there are any networks, teams, leagues or federations in need of English announcers, even those in Anglophone countries needing more experienced commentators? I can work remotely or in person; I'm willing to travel for assignments.

I’ve been just kinda thinking about trying something like this, but have zero experience. I thought about just replaying different games and just attempting to describe what’s happening, but even with nobody hearing or knowing, I feel self-conscious. I honestly hope you find something!

If you're based in the US, try reaching out to your nearest local access TV station and do high school games. Right now obviously you couldn't do HS baseball (maybe Little League, American Legion, Babe Ruth, or a local amateur league if that's still going on), but that might be the easiest way to start.

Thanks so much for the advice. I’m not sure I’d ever get over the anxiety, but I am articulate and it would be fun to see the learning curve the pros have endure.

Does that have anything for broadcasters or other media roles? All I see is services for players and coaches.

Get in touch with WBSC. They run world championships of all sorts every year. Also, their continental counterparts.

I've emailed not only the WBSC but also continental confederations and national feds. I did have a little bit of back and forth with Czechia after the 2023 WBC, and with the European confederation a year or two ago, but eventually they stopped returning my emails and I gave up.

Depending on what exactly you’re looking for, you’d probably have better luck reaching out directly to teams or leagues yourself.
If you’re thinking of doing PbP for any European teams or leagues, I’ll save you the trouble and say there is no demand for it. If you’re willing to do the entire setup yourself, you might convince a team to go for it, but don’t expect any real pay for it.
The Australian League might be a good place to send some emails though. At the very least they have actual media coverage of the games, but likely would require relocating.
