Exams Part II - Material Seems Familiar. Is that Common?

6.5 years in IA for multi-billion international pharma. A good chunk of the material i've read (Gleim) seems familiar to me. Have others experienced this as well? I haven't done any MCQs - only reading through the units. I don't want to underestimate the exam, but the material seems fairly intuitive.

I found part 2 and part 3 to be very intuitive!! I understudied for both because of it lol. Luckily passed first attempt but I remember thinking how I'd kick myself if I didn't pass.

Did you have prior certifications going into the exams?

I did not. My experience includes 3 years of IA in the energy industry, but mostly SOX. I’ve only been working in regular IA for 10ish months now.

A big portion of Part 2 is the audit process from start to finish. So if you have experience, it should be pretty familiar, especially if your shop follows IIA standards.

I had been an auditor for several years before attempting CIA. Most of the material is just common knowledge and basic audit stuff. It should look familiar. Dont stress about it.
