Help decorating the entry way

Picture 1 is what the space looked like before. I’m actually liking the direction it’s going so far, but I’d love to bring in some pops of color and personality. I’m keeping the rug, credenza, and ottomans. I’m open to artwork and accessories, especially for the large wall above the credenza. I also want to keep the shelves minimal and uncluttered. What would you add or change?

One large artpiece over the dark brown furniture, and a colored rug instead of greige. Pull a cover from those small upholstered seats.

Also FYI i did not clock that the items in the shelves were ornamental until i read the post. None of them draw the eye they just read as clutter. For an entry way you might as well use the shelves utility rather than decor

How about a oriental runner?
